Situation: Sister and I are taking first leg in same cabin. Second leg we are being joined by other family so her and I are split up into two cabins. No one else is in mine. When we disembark, we MAY leave the special area to wait and join the incoming family in the terminal so we can all board together. If we leave the special area will we be given a boarding card with number? If so what is it typically.

If you leave the terminal, you will have to wait to board with the new cruisers. There's no "special area" that separates you from the main group of cruisers. You will be invited to wait in the Concierge area, but don't have to. When you check in you will get a boarding card:

It has no number, and can be used when you wish.

No plans on leaving the terminal just MIGHT meet them at the cruise ship model so we can all board together and get the picture. We probably won't wait for them though hehehehe

Thank you that is what I needed to know.
