Hi All,

My family and I have a 7 nights western booked in June and I have booked an excursion through DCL that ends at 1:45pm, than a Royal Tea for my girls at 3pm, just wondering if that will be enough time for us to get back, shower and get to the Royal tea event on time?

When DCL listed end time of excursion at 1:45pm, does that mean we will be back on the ship at 1:45pm? or that the excursion ends at the location at 1:45pm and still requires time to travel back to ship??

we booked the sandbar stingray city tour.

any info is greatly appreciated!

It usually means you will be back to the ship by that time -- 1:45 pm...point of departure. How much time it takes to get up the gangplank, elevators, etc. depends of crowds. It might be a little tight, but doable. The Royal Tea is great fun. Be sure to take your camera.

awesome! we have two rooms booked, so each kid can shower at the same time.. we are super excited and yes on the camera!

Thanks so much!

Maybe someone with more DCL excursion experience can weigh in on this...

My experience was as follows:
Excursions STARTED at exactly the time stated on the information. But they ALMOST ALWAYS ended later than the posted time. Having said that, I haven't done that many excursions, and not the one you mentioned, so maybe someone else can give you more info.

I have done a lot of DCL excursions and my experiences are similar to yours. The end time is just an estimate -- and we are usually back onboard later than the estimate, many times up to an hour later than expected. DCL expects that there may be delays and won't even let you book 2 excursions if there is less than a 2 hour window between when the first one is scheduled to end and the second one scheduled to start. Personally, with having to get back and showered and changed, it would be too close for me to be comfortable.

We've booked, on more than one itinerary, two excursions in one day -- one in the morning with maybe an end time of 12:15 and then one in the afternoon wiht maybe a start time of 1:45 (examples only) and we've never had a problem making the second excursion. That being said, the embarkation may be backed up if your excursion ends on time, but I can't imagine you won't make the 3 p.m. tea. Is there another day to schedule it so it doesn't stress you with time?

I can't help with your excursion question (as I've never cruised before) but I'm curious about the Royal Tea. It sounds like something that my girls (and I) would love!

the Royal tea is only offered on two days on this cruise and the other date is fully booked(sold out), as my girls REALLY wanted to try the Royal tea, I just went ahead and booked, with 1:45pm end time and Royal tea at 3pm, i'm hoping 2 hours and 15mins would be enough of a buffer. Fingers Crossed!

Are you sure you have the times right? That's only 1 hour & 15 mins difference.

OUCH -- that is expensive. What does that include? Do they get the doll with that that I saw in the pictures? It's surprising the accompanying adult has to pay so much.
