On Wednesday, I bit the bullet and ordered a used Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 from B&H Photo. I could hardly sleep last night from the anticipation of it arriving today.
UPS arrived a little after 5pm (it was a looonnggg day). I ripped open the package, carefully lifted the lens out of the manufacturer's box, and began to mount my new lens on my Nikon D50.
They sent me a Sigma...but it was a Sony mount.
I'm so bummed. I checked the receipt and is says "Nikon" so I know it's not my fault, but I can't do anything about it until Sunday since they are closed on Saturdays. I'm going to miss a whole weekend of FUN! (I'm whining here). Mistakes happen, I'm not mad...but I really wanted to practice with it this weekend.
Anyway...I knew I could come here and whine a little bit. I'm sure they will straighten it out quickly. Thanks for understanding.

The Sony model is just beautiful...I'll be even more excited to get the Nikon one now that I've had it in my hands....it's a MONSTER!
If I still want the lens (which I do), they will pay for the shipping, but I'll have to make up the difference for a new one which is $80. I'm still going to do it. I have the $80 in my photo account...I had just been so excited about finding a good used one and saving a few bucks.
I've been practicing baby portraits...on babies, not guinea pigs.
I am doing senior portraits for a girl from church on Tuesday, so I'm planning to use it then (after some serious playing Monday night).
