Anyone been to the B. B. King's restaurant on I-drive? I bought a Restaurant.com certificate for it, just in case we decide to go. If anyone's been, I'd love a review. Also, if you've used a restaurant.com certificate there, were there any limitations, & were they okay with taking the certificate? Thanks in advance for the info. :)

That's funny, I bought the same thing yesterday. $25 gift certificate for two bucks -- not a bad deal.

There's 4 of us, so I bought a $50 certificate. It really is a great deal. When will you be going? We're not going until May. If you go sooner, I'd love to hear about your experience using the certificate. I'm wondering if there's any exclusions, such as alcohol. The only restrictions I saw were a mininum purchase of $100, & 20% pre-discount gratuity is automatically added. This is for the $50 cert. I didn't see any food/beverage restrictions listed, but you never know for sure.

We plan to be there in early April. If we end up going to B.B.'s, I'll post how things went. The minimum and the gratuity are the only big restrictions I remember on the restaurant.com certificate. At a lot of places you can't apply it to alcohol, but I don't remember whether that was the case here.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I just bought one of the $50 certs. as well. If we don't go all I am out is $4 but the menu looks good. I read a few reviews after a google search and it sounds pretty good.

I look forward to hearing what other DISers think of it.

The menu does look good. I'll have to look for the reviews. I'm not sure where it is on I-drive. If it's close enough, we'll most likely go. If not, like you said, it's only $4.

I bought the $100 gift cert on Wednesday for $8 with the conditions, minimum $200 purchase and 20% gratuity. I wasn't happy about having to spend $200, so I may exchange it for the $50 cert. Does anyone know how close to WDW it is? It's not on the other side of Orlando is it?

We had a good evening when we were there last September. I'm not sure why you guys spend money on a certificate. It seemed good value for money to me without all that nonsense.

Well, for $4 you get $50 worth of food. With 4 people, it shouldn't be hard to meet the $100 mark. That's $100 worth of food for $54. It's hard to beat that! ;) I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your meal there.

missthec&o,
Thanks for posting the location. I probably should have looked that up 1st, but Pointe Orlando isn't far. We're actually staying in the DTD area.

Went for a concert about a year ago, ate dinner first. Food was delicious, fun atmosphere (although very loud, even before the music started). I still remember the mac and cheese, quite possibly the best I've ever had. Menu and decor are somewhat similar to House of Blues in DTD, you probably wouldn't want to do both in the same trip.

I got one of these certificates also. My question is:

Is the restaurant kid friendly (at least 13 yr old friendly)?

Thanks in advance!

What trouble? :confused3 It takes about 1 minute to order a restaurant.com certificate. Pay $4 to save $50 - how could anyone not think that it is not a good deal?

I can't imagine that it would not be! Here is their website if you want to check it out http://www.bbkingclubs.com/index.php?page=orlhome

Thanks for all the feedback as well. We are actually pretty excited to check this place out :)

As promised, a quick review:

We were there early evening Sunday 4/5. The inside of the restaurant is pretty interesting, with the stage dominating things. A band was pounding out some blues and rock standards, good stuff, but one of my daughters is sensitive to anything loud, so we sat outside. The outside area isn't as well defined and seemed kind of like an afterthought, but our waitress kept good track of us, so we didn't feel forgotten.

Didn't do apps. My wife was very complimentary of the barbecue sandwich. One daughter had a cheeseburger and liked it; the younger one had the kids' chicken tenders meal (kinda pricey at almost $7), but the chicken looked great, definitely not the processed stuff. I had the shrimp boil and found it good if not great. We shared the fried Snickers pie for dessert and pronounced it dandy.

With the $25 certificate and the mandatory 20% tip (which was fine because the waitress was very good) the bill was in the mid-$40s, I think, which put it toward the lower end of the our Orlando sit-down meals. So for those of you planning a trip there with your restaurant.com certificate, I say enjoy your meal -- I think you'll have a pretty good time.

Thanks for the review. We are really excited to try this place out. I'm sure that with our $50 cert we will have enough left over to try the Snickers pie!

We went the week after Easter. We had a great time! Got there around 8:00pm - they did charge us a cover charge ($5 pp over age 12) which I questioned - they knocked one charge off for one of my kids. The restaurant looks more like a bar than a place to eat -- but there are lots of tables and the food (BBQ) was FANTASTIC! Three of us got the chicken and ribs -- my 15 year old and I could not eat it all. We also got the appetizer sampler (my husband had to try the fried pickles) which was also good. We were too stuffed for dessert. The music was worth the cover and we all had a good time. There were lots of families there and plenty of kids brave enough to go out on the dance floor. Very fun atmosphere and I'm glad we went (I was a little nervous when we walked in). No problem using the $50 certificate. Also - it is located in a grouping of shops/restaurants on I-drive - you need to park in the parking garage adjacent to it. We paid $4 for about 2.5 hours I think....wasted some time driving around thinking there was a place to park.

Thans for the great review and the warning about the parking and the cover charge (we will make sure to go early to avoid that!) DH and I are so glad to hear the the BBQ is good. That is what we are both looking forward to!

I'll post a review as well when I get back!
