We've had the Hojo booked for our trip in a few weeks, and we stayed there before, so we know we like it.

HOWEVER, getawaytoday has a deal where we can stay at the Ayers hotel for six nights for $460, whereas at the HOJO, even the AP rate is costing us about $760. I see that the Ayers is ranked #1 on tripadvisor, but is it a fun hotel for kids? Do they have a great pool and hot tub? Is the location good?

I'm not sure if we should switch. It's a great deal, but I know we love the Hojo, so I'm not sure what to do........

Ayers are nice hotels but the DL one is quite a distance from the DLR. Do you really want to drive and park each day? The free breakfast is a nice perk but the distance is a real negative. I bet it would be a very nice hotel with great customer service (have not stayed) but we are actually picking a walking distance hotel this time because we are tired of having to drive and park each day.

Ayres Anaheim is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are sort of a country french boutique look and they include a great breakfast. (Make sure it is Ayres Anaheim you're looking at, and not Ayres Orange)
It is about a 5-10 minute drive along Katella. I have stayed there and loved it. It is a nice quiet oasis after the busy parks.
HOWEVER, I wouldn't say it is fun for kids. The pool is small and there is no water park like at HoJos. This is not something we look for, but if it is important to you then you might not be happy there. I have also heard the parking situation at the parks is not good these days. If you are happy at HoJos and you have little ones, it might be worth the extra $s to stay walking distance.

Thank you to both of you! That gives me a better idea of what I should do. We'd take the ART bus, so I'm not worried about that, but my daughter is a huge fan of being able to see Disney across the street, and it's really important to us to have somewhere that "continues" the kid fun the whole trip, which we found Hojo did well.

It sounds like this hotel, while an amazing deal (and definately a place I'd go if it were just me!), isn't going to be much fun for her, and since really this trip is all about her having an amazing time (and me by being the mom able to enjoy it with her!), that isn't the choice for us this time.

Thanks again!
