Ayres Anaheim???

Has anyone stayed at the Ayres Anaheim? I know it is not exactly close to Disney, but I get a smokin rate through our corporate agreement. Is the ART convienient from the hotel? Any good resturants nearby?

I stayed at the Ayres in Anaheim last June. It was very nice and comfortable. Great bed, very clean bathroom, large tub. Really good breakfast. There is some noise from the freeway on that side of the hotel but the view is prettier from that side.
I used the Orange County Transit System, not ART, because I needed to go to Buena Park. It was very convenient. I've read that ART is very convenient there as well.
There are several good places to eat around there because of the baseball stadium and another sport/entertainment venue.
I'd stay there again if I got a good rate.

We stayed there back in 2002 when tourism was a little slow. They had just recently opened and gave us a great rate. We loved it. Breakfast was good and cooked to order (although my son didn't appreciate the loud "businessmen" as he called them in the breakfast room everyday) It does seem to get fewer vacationers than other Anaheim hotels and is generally much more sedate and quiet. A nice oasis from the craziness of the parks. I saw very few children there. They do have meeting rooms so I suppose they get a fair amount of corporate travel. The rooms are large with a European boutique hotel look to them and the beds were very nice. We would definitely go back except for the fact that they charge an extra person rate in the room kids over 12. (most hotels don't until they're over 18). Overall its a great little hotel. HTH
