Samuel, our nurse, said the sweetest thing to us. He comes every night to help with exercising Christian and getting him ready for bed. Christian looks forward to Samuel coming every night because he knows that Samuel will bundle him up and take him out for a 2 mile walk, something that DH & I can no longer do. He comes in with pink cheeks and a big smile. Then Samuel lovingly bathes Christian and dresses him for bed. Christian is very autistic, so he doesn't really interact with people too much. But Samuel always leaves him with a kiss and sometimes Christian will incline his head toward him.
I cannot tell you how grateful we are for this man in our lives. He has transformed our family, giving us a little time to ourselves to do things with our other kids, or just going grocery shopping without our little Buddy. And he's so so good with Christian, playing with him, rough-housing. He handles him gently and he is always engaged with Christian.
Well, tonight before he left, Samuel said "I love Christian so much. I pray for him every night. You know, there are still miracles!"

Awww, that's so sweet. We think Christian is a miracle already
You know, you can't pay someone to love your child.

Samuel is such a blessing.
