I made reservations a week ago for a long weekend in July, around the time my son is performing at the Citrus Bowl. Considering we usually go to UO in September or January (slow season), I knew I would be paying a much higher rate for rooms at Portofino. BUT, I never expected the surprise I received. I saw rates of $254/night for a Garden View room on the four-day special rate. When I mentioned to the reservation person that I was a Preferred Annual Passholder, she rechecked and found that the AP rate was actually a little higher
. I wasn't too thrilled. She then asked if I was a AAA member, but unfortunately I am not.
She then said, "Mr. Borden, are you a Loews First Card member?" I said sure and gave her my number. WELL, that did the trick, because she said that I was now a Platinum member due to my stays last year and I was being upgraded to a 1 bedroom Portofino SUITE for the $254 rate!! I was definitely stoked by that!! My wife and daughter are really excited for the trip now as well
.
Make sure you try all options when making reservations!!
