When you are away from your babies (or pets as some like to call them ;) ) do you get to where you miss them really bad?

My Auggie is very good at picking up on when even the slightest thing is wrong with me. Monday night when I went home to get my clothes and such for my surgery she could tell something just wasn't right. She didn't want to leave my side. I love her!

I'm not going back home until Friday and I miss her so bad. Too bad I can't call her and let her know I am okay and I'll be back home with her soon.

My cat was also very loving towards me. Isn't it funny how they can sense this stuff? I'm so glad I have my pets in my life. I don't know what I would do without them.

We came home 1 day early from WDW one year because we were worried about our dog. It was the first time we had ever left him at a kennel.

Awww Shirley, that is sweet. I guess this time wouldn't bother me so bad if I didn't know Auggie was upset because she knew something was going on.

I always miss my babies. When I was at band camp this summer, I had a picture of them by my bed (a couple pics, actually). I looked at them every night before I went to bed and there were a couple nights that I cried because I missed them so much (I was only gone for a week). Tuesday night of camp I cried because everything was going wrong that day and then I looked at the pics of my babies and I cried harder. LOL.

Awww, glad you had the pics of them with you though.

It always amazes me how much my kitties pick up on--and how attached they get to their "people".

I had to leave Mishka, my first and favorite kitty-boy, at my parents' house (my childhood home) one summer when I was working in Europe. He, according to my dad, slept in my room all day and would coming running out whenever he heard the front door open. He would see it wasn't me, fix whoever it was with a glare, then turn and walk back to my room!!:cat:

Do you have an answering machine? You could call and let them hear your voice?

Yes, I do have one but it is broken. Two more days until I get to see my babies again.

Honestly, going on vacation has become kinda hard because I have to leave my pets with someone else (2 dogs, 2 cats). My mom passed away last December, she lived with us so when we went on vacation she was always home to take care of the pets. I knew they were okay and although I missed them I didn't worry that they were being taken care of properly. Now when we go away, we have a house sitter and I know their basic needs are taken care of but I worry about them the whole time we are gone and it takes some of the fun out of vacation. If I could just take them with me, I'd be happy and could completely relax, everyone else might not have a good time with 4 animals running through the house though.....

Kinda funny, we were in Orlando just a couple of weeks ago. Our nephew was housesitting for us (he's 21). He called one night about 10:30pm and said "I think Robert (that's what he calls our cat, Bob) is outside. I went to let the dogs in and Sox came running in, I didn't know she was out. So I looked all over the house for Robert and can't find him. I looked outside and don't see him anywhere." He was in a panic. I told him to wait a little while and then go outside and call again. About 10 mins later he calls me back, "Robert's in". We don't let our cats outside, but they are sneaky and sometimes manage to get out, even my husband has let Bob out without knowing it.
