Awaiting ROFR and going crazy

we are first time DVC buyers. We are currently in the beginning stages of buying a AKV resale through DVC resale market. Our contract is 160 points, $109 a point
2016 -113 points 2017 -160 points 2018 160 points
Use year is August

Offer was accepted one August 15 and it was just sent to Disney for ROFR 2 days ago.

I am shaking in my boots. I have so many plans for these points and I we are hoping to use the banked 2016 points in June before they expire and baking the 2017 points to use in October! We would have 320 points and would allow us to have such an awesome vacation.

Any way to pass this time and relieve some of this anxiety?

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to get too "attached" to the contract until it passes ROFR. Mine took 19 days to pass and we just closed today! What helped me was knowing there were other contracts out there if this one was taken back by Disney, but then again we don't have any 2017 points and aren't planning a trip until probably next fall since I'm currently 6 months pregnant.

Great advice! I know I shouldn't get too attached and you are right there are more contracts out there but this one just seemed so perfect and we got those bonus banked points from 2016. All I can do is hope (and wait. Lots of waiting)

I'd love to give you words of wisdom here, but all you can do is wait. It wasn't easy the first time, and didn't get easier with the second contract. All you can do is wait for the email that it passed or didn't. Our first contract took the better part of a month, the last under 7 days. The advice of don't get too attached to any contract until it passes is good, but not easy to do. Rarely does a contract from AKL get picked up, so that is in your favor.

It gets easier when you go for your 2nd and 3rd contract..........

Last year the process was a lot slower for all contracts, but this year it seems to have speed up a little bit.

One of the resale sites publishes how many contracts of theirs are taken by Disney in ROFR. They do it every month, and have a running total for the year. The chances of Disney taking any particular contract in ROFR are pretty small on average, between 5 and 8 percent. AKV hasn't been high on the "take" list, the way BLT and OKW have of late.

But, having said that, don't get too attached to it until it's through ROFR. Yours might be one that gets taken...
