I've heard that it's a good idea to avoid the MK on the day they tape the Christmas parade for television. Does anyone know how to find out what day they are scheduled to tape it this year? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Although I don't know for sure when they'll film the parade this year, it's usually been the first weekend in December. Also, it usually takes both Saturday and Sunday, and when I was there a few years ago, it took 3 days, including Monday because Regis and Kelly got stuck in a snow storm and arrived late for taping.

We were there over the first weekend in Dec.'05. On Dec 3 we had ADRs at Cindy's for dinner at 5:30pm. We got into the park at 5pm. We saw the very end of the parade and all the filming was completed. At least that is what a couple of CMs told us. It was pretty cool. The ABC stage and chairs for Regis and Kelly were still set up at the loop at the front of the park.

My family is doing our first Christmas trip this year, and we just happen to be going the first weekend of December. Since the kids (and us as well) LOVE MK we wont be able to avoid it all together, but we figure we'll either go later in the day or just push past the crowds to get to the rest of the park. They do the filming on Main St., don't they?

I'll stay with the Middle of Dec trip for me.

A couple years ago we stumbled upon the filming at the MK, first week in December. It had to be a Friday because we don't stay over the weekends.

Anyway, we walked past the crowds, on Main Street, and did the rest of the park. Other than the people standing around in the front of the park, it wasn't any more crowded than it was the other day we were there.

We were in the MK the Friday of the taping in Dec 05. It was also morning EMH at MK. DH and I were able to do everything in the park with very minimal waiting . The crowds were either on Main Street or up by the castle and didn't affect any of our fun that day. We hardly waited for any attraction at all and toured the entire park before about 4pm with multiple rides on SplM, SpM, and others. It was also cool to see some of the music performers and such. I don't know how busy it was there on Saturday, but Friday was fine!

Good luck!
