Avoiding Pop Warner

I stayed at Pop during the cheerleading contest in April of 2013 and I didn't really have many issues, they where practicing on the grounds of the resort but not too early (we where already up but having a relaxed day) and I kinda enjoyed hearing it, it was my first trip to the USA and it made it feel more American haha. Most of the competitors seemed ok, the only thing that got to me was this one mom absolutely screaming at her daughter for messing up her routine while this poor girl was in tears, couldn't stop thinking what a beast of a woman she was. In my experience its usually ok.

The Pop Warner concerns are valid. For every person who has had "no issue" with them, you can probably find two or three more people that have gripes about them.

That being said, if you must be there the same time as them, going at the end of their stay bodes well for you. As teams are eliminated from the tournament, families go home or leave the resort. So it starts to thin out. In addition, staying at AOA means you'll likely avoid them. To date, they have not yet stayed at AOA and I doubt they would since its still relatively new and popular. I would stay at AOA regardless, since it's a roll of the dice on which moderates they will be at.

I'm not sure, but I ended up booking POFQ. I was able to get a discount booking through Orbitz and it actually ended up being cheaper than AoA. I have always heard that while they sometimes do stay at moderate resorts, they usually never stay at POFQ due to its small size.

My wife and I are in a LM @ AoA from 12/4 thru 12/7 (Disapalooza!!!). We chose AoA based on what others said about where PW stays. I did a bunch of research and much of that said the PW attendees are well behaved.......as well behaved as 10 to 12 years olds will be . Actually our only concern was bus crowds (ahhhh so elite ) but other than that...............I'm not worried.............jeez just JINXED it! .......

It's not so much the behavior that concerns me but more the crowds at the pool (my daughter's FAVORITE activity at DW), the food court, and on the buses. So weird there is no info on what mod they will be at.

in general large groups aren't placed in POFQ because of its size.....my fam had a disturbance from Pop Warner at POR once, but not to deter us from going during PW week again.....but never noticed anybody at POFQ

Thanks for confirming what I had heard! I decided to take the chance for a 50 dollar savings over an AoA little mermaid room! It's my best friend and I traveling (both 30) and I thought we would be happier at POFQ.

If I were made of money I would be at at LEAST POFQ every year, who doesn't love beignets for breakfast??!?!?! But alas, I am at All Star Sports....

In the past, Disney has used POFQ as Pop Warner overflow when POR filled up. But its not usually a choice offering for Pop Warner.

Thanks! We are there at the very end of the week, so I decided to chance it when I got the fall room only discount on top of an Orbitz discount code that made POFQ about $60 cheaper than a LM room at AoA! I could save around $90 dollars by moving to POP or an all star but being 2 30 year old adults I thought it was worth staying at POFQ.

We've been when PW was in full force and when the cheerleader competitions were in full force. If we had to choose between the two, I'd take PW any day.

We are going to be at PC during PW and are not worried at all. We always go beginning of December and always stay at PC. The last few years they really enforce everything at the resort. If the teams don't they risk the chance of being kicked out with no money returned and banned from future PW events. Last year they had 2 teams it happened too. So all the hype that some people have on here is not really reality.
