Can anyone clarify for me when I can modify a hotel/package reservation and when I need to cancel it and make a new one?
We had a January 2021 trip that of course got cancelled. Lately since there's been some light at the end of the COVID tunnel I'm tempted to book something for January 2022, but given that there's still a lot of uncertainty, I know there's a good possibility I will have to modify or cancel any reservation. I know it's not a lot of money compared to the cost of a Disney vacation, but the currency fluctuations and credit card exchange fees on the deposit are holding me back. I don't want to end up making (and cancelling) multiple reservations and taking a hit on the exchange each time.
Or, alternatively, any recommendations for a good credit card with no currency exchange fees? I have a Rogers Bank Mastercard, which gives you cash back to offset the currency exchange fee, but when something is refunded you lose the cash back so it's no help in this particular situation.
