Avoiding Fireworks in September

So my daughter is terrified of fireworks, and while it might change, I want to know that we can avoid being in direct line of sight somewhere in the park.

Should we plan for late dinners or are there things we can do that aren't going to put us right in the fireworks lineup?

Just be inside or away from the parks. They can be heard for miles around and viewed from great distances above the castle.

What days in September will you be there?

If it's still off-season, the fireworks will only be on weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) anyway, so on those days, stay away from the castle and Main St. where you'd have the best views. I actually find that I can't see them very much at all from Tomorrowland...and I've ridden Nemo during fireworks and it was only a 10 minute line because everyone else was elsewhere watching fireworks. "Underwater" on Nemo would be a great way to avoid them lol!

Is is the sight, or the sound of them that scares her? If the sound, maybe look into some earplugs.

When in September? After Labor Day (first Monday in Sept) fireworks will not happen on weeknights. So it may be a mute point for you.

If your daughter likes PotC and/or HM, take advantage of the likely-to-be non-existent lines and take a few rides. Those rides are pretty long in duration and you can't hear the fireworks at all if you're on one of them. Or, you could go into shops on Main St. You'll still hear them but the noise will be much more muffled. Try to choose an off-season time to go in September as HydroGuy and sonnyjane mentioned so that you won't experience them every night.

We live in a capital city (that is rather small) so you can't get away from Canada Day fireworks. The first night we were FRONT ROW and she -freaked- out. We took off but she wouldn't let go so I could put her in the carseat to drive away. She buried her head in my chest and made me sing the Alphabet loudly until it was over.

The next night we stayed home with the doors/windows shut but as soon as she heard them she freaked out again.

It may all be a moot point after this Canada Day if she decides she likes them, but if comes down to it, I want to know that we'll be away/distracted when it goes down.

We are going to be there during the week, but I understand there are Halloween Party fireworks? (Sept 23-29th)..

Thanks again!

The Halloween parties won't start until the 28th or 29th. You'll have fireworks the Sunday you arrive and the Friday & Saturday. Also Fantasmic has pyrotechnics (will also only show weekends minus party nights). I don't remember if WOC has any.
