Avoiding Conventions March & May?

We were planning on going to Disneyland in early March, the 2-7th to be exact. However, we are rethinking this because of the big convention the 5-9th. We are using http://www.anaheimoc.org/conventioncalendar to look them up.

We wanted to avoid the spring break crowds, so we thought about the 1st week in May. Then we noticed there is another large convention during that week too.

Does everyone else try to avoid the conventions? Should we go anyways, or wait until the 2nd week of May? Of course, by then, schools are getting out in Arizona, lol.

I have to say besides effecting hotels, most conventions don't seem to really effect the DLR crowds that much from what I have noticed. But maybe someone else has more information on this.

I think there's pretty much a convention every week in Anaheim. Not all of them are big and affect the DLR.
