I have the Disney All Star Sports from April 28 to May 4. I learned that there were some cheerleading competition the weekend from April 26 to 29 and May 1 to 4.

Should I changed? My options are All Stars Sports or stay offside. Other All Stars are not available and the options I have are too expensive for me. Ive been to WDW like 7 times but has never stay at the bubble and was looking forward to it.

I am more worried about Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th, as we planned to spend those days at the resort using the pool and eating at the food court. I know there will be teams practicing on the football court. My guess is that they will be at the basketball and tennis court as well? Do the pools get crowded?

We went during a cheer time at end of April in 2023 and the only way we even knew was because in Via Napoli one night there were tables full of teens. They must have gotten news they won something because they all erupted into loud cheering! Everyone was hugging and jumping up and down, I got so caught up in it that I started cheering! 😂

Be aware that they also stay at AKL-Jambo. They were there a few years back when we stayed.

Haha sounds fun. I am not worry about the parks as I know they are huge so they spread out. But I am worried about the hotel. It seems like I am staying at the worst of all. I just want to make sure we can enjoy a resort day or two at the pools while they are there.

We have been at a resort with cheerleaders and never had any issue's. They spend almost the whole day at the tournaments and are not at the resort very much. It would not make me change my resort. Now Pop Warner was a different story and that was the parents and not the kids, but they are no longer at WDW.

Won't ever be infringing on my comfort, because I won't be staying at the hotel that they are at. And if you think that just reporting the behavior to the staff at Disney is going to accomplish much, go ahead. I would cancel a trip before I would stay at one of the host hotels of
Pop Warner. Oh, and I too am a cheer mom.
👍👍👍👍
I did reschedule to the following week because of Pop Warner!

I stayed at Pop about 5 years back and there was a youth football team staying in the same hallway as us. I did not know it until the next morning when I saw them all lining up to head to whatever game they were going to. I made sure to tell the coach and chaperones I had never seen such a well behaved large group of kids.

On the flip side, I stayed at Coronado once and there was some kind of teen group there. They were not an issue at the pools, the issue was outside the room at night! They were hanging outside yelling until 3 am. I called security and finally went out myself to ask them to be quiet.

So it really does not matter the hotel. Kids will be kids. I think if you ask to not stay in the football section you will be fine. They tend to practice on the large football field.

Worlds is over on April 28 so those teams will no longer be practicing but may begin their vacation at that point since most don't do anything before comp.

D1 Summit starts on May 1 which means some teams will likely arrive April 29 and practice on the All Star football field April 30. I've never heard of teams practicing on other courts. Food courts will be packed as Sports is a main hotel for Summit as well as a major meeting point for many teams. Some gyms have rules about swimming before competitions but others don't care so I'd say it's possible they will be crowded.

While the Football Field is definitely GROUND ZERO,we have seen Cheerleaders during Cheer Season practicing just about any place they can find over the years!lol

We have seen them practicing in Center Court Courtyard and Hoops Hotel Courtyard at Sports,Love Bug Courtyard at Movies,The Green at Pop Century,etc..

CHEERLEADERS GOTTA CHEER!lol :)

What’s the difference if it’s cheerleaders, soccer teams, or any other group of kids that are at Disney year round especially at the All Stars? I’m confused?

Personally I always make sure to avoid being there at the same time as cheerleaders now because I had a really bad experience with a group of them a few years ago. The cheerleaders, and actually their parents even more, where so wild and rowdy at the pool that it felt more like being at a frat party than being on a family vacation.

This.

Plus just the sheer volume of Cheerleaders who attend the competitions.

Yes, this! I was at All Star Sports in February, and the day I checked out was the day that the cheerleaders arrived en masse. They were practicing on just about every square inch of open space and the lobby was absolute chaos. I didn't venture into the food court, but I imagine it wasn't any better. I was very happy to be leaving.

I think Disney may have priced out Pop Warner?
If I remember correctly, they moved from WDW to Universal in Nov 2020, WDW was still not fully opened. So I think it was a Pop Warner decision to move to Universal on a 4 year deal.
