Avis rental car?

Has anyone used Avis to get from the airport to the Cape Canaveral area? We are flying in the night before and would like to use the car overnight and return it Sat. How far is it to the port from the rental location? The address is 6650 N Atlantic Ave. I was thinking DH and my DDad could drop us off at the port then return the car and take a cab or shuttle back. Has anyone done this? How early should we plan on the drop off time? I don't want them to worry about getting back. Thanks!

The Avis office is only about 4 miles from the port. They have a complimentary shuttle which will take you to the port after turning in the car. If you're staying around Port Canaveral the night before the cruise, I'd drop off the luggage at 10:30am when the port opens, then go return the car. If part of your group is staying at the port while the car is returned, make sure everyone has their cruise documents and ID, as you'll need them to get into the terminal. If you get an early start, everyone should be checked in and in line prior to when boarding begins.

We stayed at the Cocoa Beach Holiday Inn Express this year. We drove along the main road toward the port, but stopped at Avis first. Their shuttle took us right to the port. Very easy drop off, and transfer to the port.

This is the same plan we are doing in 3 wks. We will drive to CC and drop everyone off. and DH and I will go back to AVIS and be shuttled in. On the following SATURDAY we will take the shuttle back to AVIS and get another car for the day and drive it to SANFORD at night.

Thank you very much. I think it will work well for us. Do you think $100 for a Suburban for the day is an ok price? It seems high compared to the weekly prices but I know we will pay more for a single day with a different drop off site. Thanks again!

You didn't say how many people were in your party, but Budget has a minivan for $69.99 one way. Is that big enough for all of you?

Thanks but I am afraid that the mini van will be too small. Idrive a Montana all the time and love it, but there are 7 of us and all our luggage and I don't think it will all fit!
