have a cheaper rate with thrifty but never used them. are they reliable, any problems with check in/out. if its first time renting can you still skip counter (joined membership). any info appreciated. thanks

Might check their website to see exactly how it works. I know with some other rental companies the first time you rent as a member of their club, you have to go the counter so they can verify your ID/driver's license and input some information to their system.

If you have your Blue Chip number attached to the reservation you go straight out to the ramp and check in with the booth there. Tell them you have a Blue Chip contract and they pull it from a pile there. Then they will verify your DL info and tell you which aisle to pick your car from. I just got back this morning, picking up was easy, took a long time to drop off last night for some reason though.
