Avis - How is the service and car condition?

Hi all,

Will be renting a full size car for our spring break trip. We have alway rented with national, but will be using our AMex certificates for this one.

How is the service?

Are the car in good/clean condition?

We will arrive at noon - will this limit the selection of cars - does anyone have any experience as to how Avis handles this?

So my experience does go back a few years. However, we always had an easy time renting and great cars through Avis. Cars were always in good condition.

You'll be fine.

I rent Avis every month and have never had a problem.Its on site and very quick.

I use Avis for my business rentals. You mentioned selection, be aware that it is different from National, you do not select the car, it is already assigned. I have a preferred card (free) and I get upgraded about 50% of the time. With the preferred card, you go straight to the garage/lot and pickup the keys at the booth, no line. I used them last week in Atlanta and got a Chevy HHR. The time before in Atlanta I got upgraded to a nice Chevy Monte Carlo. They assigned me a Jeep Liberty in Orlando 2 weeks ago, I asked for a switch, I wanted a regular car (I'm short, it's hard to get in and out). They gave me a Chevy Malibu, which I think is much nicer than the old model Malibu.

I almost always use Avis at MCO. Great service with their free Avis Preferred plan. Just go directly to the garage and pickup the car keys at the kiosk there. No waiting in line. Always get a good car - often an upgrade.
