Avis at Port Canaveral

Thinking of renting a passenger van for trip to and from MCO for 9 of us. Anyone have experience with dropping a Avis car off at Port canaveral-- is it near Disney? What about picking up at disembark morning?

Best way to go for a party of 9? We are staying at Country Inn suites the night before cruise and will keep van for the day and drive to port.

Avis is one of the ones that further away. We used them at the end our our cruise. It was very easy getting to the office on the shuttle and not a lot of people using Avis. Are you sure the van will have enough room for 9 people plus luggage?

Any other thought for mode of transportation? I think it is more economical for private transport.

We did a one way rental from Avis from PC to MCO. Pick up was super easy. There was just one person in front of us when we got there around 9:15. My brother drove us from the port to the Avis rental location so that DD and I could get our car before he and his family started home so we didn't have to deal with the shuttle bus. You will need to shuttle from any of the rental car agencies to the port, and reverse on the way back. Probably the best thing would be to drop your family off at the port, you return the rental car, then ride the shuttle to the port.
