I found code K1999060 on mousesavers and booked a one way rental from the pier back to mco for $42...with taxes its $47.52 for a full size car. On mousesavers, it says its from a major florida tourism organization. But, when I print out the avis confirmation, it says rate rules: friday night stay is required, maximum 4 days and 12 hours, checkout before 3pm sunday.

Well...we aren't renting on a fri night...just sat for 5 hours approx. Does anyone know about this code and/or will I have problems using it since the website accepted my reservation with the code for the times I wanted?

Also, do I need to call Avis to let them know we will be using shuttle at the pier or do I just hop on? Thx in advance!

I can't say for sure what will happen with the code, but from my personal experience one time.....I used an internet code and was given a price/confirmation from the car rental website but when I got to the counter they told me that my rental did not meet the requirements of the discount code and it was an error in the system. I argued that then why did the system accept it but was shot down and had to pay a higher rate. I tried in vain to argue my point but it was of no use.

I am not saying the same thing will happen to you...I don't even remember which car rental agency it was but it was for a rental from MCO to the port.

Are there any codes at mousesavers that do meet the parameters of your rental? I have also found recently (this week) that Thrifty had a full sized car under their "Hot Deals" that was the cheapest...even with their one-way drop off charge so check them out as well.

You do not have to reserve a spot on a car rental shuttle....it is first come, first serve and hop on and hop off. There is usually a line that forms if there are several people wanting to get on the shuttle and if one shuttle fills up, another will be around shortly.

Does Thrifty pick up at the port? What all companies do? I'm aware of budget/avis/hertz. The code listed on mousesavers did not list any parameters or terms of use....just that it was a florida travel organization code. Then, after I used it, the confirmation is what listed the above parameters. So, it makes me nervous. I got it for $42, and other agencies were closer to $70.

Try B021615 or B021600 with Avis - they are posted on the mousesavers site - the codes are for Walmart customers - no restrictions - we have used in the past with no problems and from experience, the rate is usually lower than the code you mentioned.

Nope, already tried those codes...they are $72...and the one I used was $42.

What date does this code expire?
I tried this code at Avis for January 23rd 2010 11:30AM pick up to January 24th 2010 Cape C (P3F), 11:00 AM drop off.

The price was exactly the same with this promotion and with no promotion at all.

We have them booked for a one day rental ( 8 hour) and we are paying $39.04 for a midsized. Use code Y937800 ( Dis Code) found here on this website under the TRANSPORTATION section on the main page.

Great rate.

Thanks! I just rebooked our Budget one-way reservation and saved over $50 compared to the Wal-mart code for a minivan overnight rental.

I would go ahead and book the $42 rate and then book another car with different company so that if they try to reject your discounted rate, you have a backup with another agency. At that point, I am pretty sure they would honor your rate rather than lose your business. :thumbsup2

I don't think you have to worry about this rate being legit.
It's from this (trusted) forum.

Maybe someone who has booked with it can reply.

I can let you know in a month !

Do you know if you need to show proof of where the offer code is from? I just put a car on hold for July and decided to read the fine print.

I printed off the offer code...but what does the fine print say that has you concerned?

On the fine print it says something to the effect of showing proof of a coupon. I know the offer code is different from a coupon, but I was just wondering if I would need proof of that as well. Where did you print the offer code from?
