Avios offers

I've just booked hotel using my Avios points (will do separate thread on that ) but interestingly they seem to access a different system to the DLP direct website. I just got 40% off at the SL and the DLP website is showing 25%, last week I was quoted for HNY at 40% off when it was only showing 1night free on the DLP website. I'm pretty sure anyone can book and pay fully in cash, with a free account. Might be worth a try?

Well that is a strange one! I just phoned AVIOS this morning to see if I could use some of my points. They offered me £889 and a shoddy £40 off by using 7000 points. DLP booking site is showing the same holiday for &740 showing 25% off. I guess it depends on your dates (4-7 June)

Yeah I guess so. :shrug: we arrive 6 May. It depends on the hotel too. One lady I spoke to last weekend said she could phone through to Disney to match the lower price I was getting on the NPB via the Disney website. Their fixed points bands are a bit rubbish, although you can buy extra miles if you are close to the next band up. I'm really pleased with my booking as I thought all my airmiles would go to waste after the change over.

If you don't mind me asking - do you know what the bands are? I have 20,000 points but she said I could only use 7000??? I didn't really understand!

If you ask they will list them. I priced up 3 different hotels and the full points were close to or over 100,000. The next down was 55,000 ish + £ xx which I thought was a big jump. Frustrating if you have 90,000. That's when I found out you could buy extra miles which could top you up. There were possibly two more lower points bands but as I had over 50k we didn't go into them, sorry.
