Average Souvenir Cost

In park souvenirs, I think we paid a about $150 - $200 total for our family of four. Let me think, what did we get ? We each got a Mickey Ears hat that was monogrammed, DD got a Minnie Doll, DS got an Ewok doll, DD and I each got pearls from the Japan Pavillion, DD got an paper umbrella and we also bought a picture frame.

Out of Park souvenirs, I think I spent around $100. These are souvenirs we brought from home to give to the kids at the hotel once we returned from the parks. We told them that if they were good, Tinkerbelle would leave them some small presents in a special bag that they made. Even though we only spent $100, I think I still did too much. We bought our souvenirs from various places like Target, Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Costco and the Disney Store. Next Time, I will wait till the Disney store or Disneystore.com has good discounts and buy some souvenirs then. I know disneystore.com usually has really good deals on Cyber Monday. I got some stuffies that would have been $9 at the parks were only $3.50 on Cyber Monday.

Why not go to the Disney Store website and check there for prices - they have a category for "Disney Park Products"

I'm the guy that saves up a bunch of money to spend on souvenirs and ends up not spending anywhere close to what I planned on before. Over my last two trips I've bought probably 10 pins and a t-shirt. So I probably spend about $50-60 each trip.

For first timers, or even a few trips, I can see buying souvenirs. We have been many times and have purchased very little after the first few trips. We were just there and I did purchase a F&G pin at Epcot. I have mugs from our local Disney Store that were purchased on clearance several years ago, and they 'last'. ;)

We just don't like a lot of 'stuff'. It's great at first, but quickly gets put in the closet. How many people actually wear all the 'Disney' clothing that they buy there after their trips? I never see anyone with Disney clothing around here, except maybe a small child occasionally, and very few of them. So that's one thing we do not have to consider on our trips.

I wear my Disney clothing frequently :confused3

I wear my Disney t-shirts all the time. They may not be stylish, but they're me. :)

Last year, we brought a ton of $$ for souvenirs. We gave each one of our twins $100 to spend on themselves and we bought them ears.

My hubby and I each bought a tee shirt....but honestly at the end of our trip it felt like we were looking for things to buy...we bought a couple of frames to give as gifts to grandparents with pics of the kids...but really...we didn't buy much at all.
We came home with at least 75% of the money we went with.
And I'm not saying that there weren't nice things there...just not anything I really needed..and we aren't nick knack type people either.

We are going back again this year....so we'll see if we spend any more.

I have a thing for coffee cups so I get one everywhere I go. So I get one each trip for like $15. Other than that we don't waste money on Disney souvenirs, I get tons of Disney clothes and things at the local thrift stores for next to nothing. I got this awesome Minnie sweater a few months ago with a tag still on it for $43 and only paid $1.50 at Goodwill. I joke that thrift stores are where I do my Disney shopping. :-)
