:dance3: What is the average price difference between staying at a Value versus Deluxe Resort?

Too many variables. While there are only two categories (standard/preferred) at the Value resorts, there are a half dozen or so at each Deluxe, and there's no 'average' Deluxe resort rate. Plus, the rates vary by season, by holiday, by day of the week...

But you're welcome to work out the average yourself ;)
Value rates: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2046878
Deluxe rates: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disney-rates-deluxe-2009.htm

And keep in mind, I LIKE numbers - so if I'm saying it's too much work and you choose to do the calculations anyway, be prepared for some serious number-crunching.

Right, agree with PP... but deluxe garden view in Value season can be $355 at the Poly and about $85 at an All Star Value... Again, too many variables, but $300/night minimum is a good start.

I guess i was thinking bottom of the barrel prices for each, say like POP versus Poly

Then change the above to $82 for Pop and $355 Poly for Value season, garden view.

We were thinking of upgrading to a Pool View Room at AKL (deluxe) or King Bed at Port Orleans Riverside (moderate) from a Preferred Room at Pop Century (value) from 9/26/09 - 10/01/09 (VALUE Season).

Pop Century Preferred Room Only Cost: $546

Port Orleans Riverside King Bed Room Only Cost: $979

Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool View Room Only Cost: $1378

Going from a Value to a Deluxe is a difference of $832 for the total trip, making the nightly cost difference about $139 per night.

We couldn't justify the price difference, so we just decided to upgrade to deluxe dining for $320, so we could have SOMEthing deluxe on our trip!! :rotfl:

Okay, well, the links I provided have all the 2009 prices. You should be able to figure out the differences.

Hi,

I agree with PP there are a lot of variables. While the values all have the same base price as do the moderates, the Deluxes all have a different base price with four different tiers in those prices: AKL & WL are cheapest but only fit four to a std room, then comes BWI, BC & YC, the next tier is Poly followed by GF. If you go online to disneyparks.com you can see the base price differences for each of the different resorts. I'd say your best bet is to contact a TA or check out mousesavers.com to help you price out the differences for your particular days because for some of the resorts even the different days of the week have different prices. Though I'd say the minimum price difference is $200/day. HTH/:thumbsup2
