What did you eat at the Main St. bakery? Also, how were your meals at Tusker House and Chef Mickeys?

Our Party me, DW, DD (20 on this trip), DS (7)

Lunch - Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe - MK

Here my DW and I decided to share the 1/2 chicken and ribs combo with mashed potatoes, green beans, and cornbread. I gave my DW the chicken and half the potatoes. Chicken was very moist, fresh and full of flavor. She did not like the potatoes but I did. Ribs were four large ribs, a meal by themselves, dry rub that I had to add sauce too but they were very good. Green beans were crisp and delicious. Overall as a CS meal to share we give this an A+ for value and enjoyment.

DD got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries. Chicken was ok but a little tough. The fries were very good, nicely seasoned, and fresh. She would grade it a B but mainly cause the toughness of the chicken.

DS got the Kid's Chicken Nuggets with fries. These were tiny nuggets and looked awful. He ate them but we give it a D.

For dessert, we got two triple chocolate cakes and a chocolate chip cookie with kid's meal which we saved for later. The cake was moist, rich, and delicious. A+ here.

Overall rating and recommendation “A- “

Bonus – Snack time

DS got a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar (his favorite) and a powerade because it was hottttttt. Mickey Bars are the best……chocolaty, rich, cold, and creamy. The only thing my son was missing on his face was the ear shape as he was covered in chocolate and ice cream.

DD and I both got Pineapple Floats. One word YUMMY!!!!!!!!!.

Nothing beats cold ice cream at Disney.

Dinner – Old Port Royale Food Court at CBR

Due to heavy rain it was after 9pm so we were pretty hungry.

My DW and DD both got Fettuccini Pasta with Grilled Chicken with Marinara sauce. DW liked hers. DD said chicken was tough (recurring theme here). Sauce was good and pasta cooked properly. Portion size was plenty but overall give it a C+.

DS got Kid’s cheese pizza with apples and chocolate pudding. Be warned the Kid’s pizza is tiny. Literally about a 4” pizza circle so 2 bites on each ½ and its gone. Great for a 3 or 4 year old, not great for an almost 8 year old who loves pizza and its past his normal bed time. Pudding was awful. Apples were ok. So he ate my wife’s chocolate cake to kind of fill up. Overall this kid’s meal get’s an F.

For me I got the Roast Pork with yellow rice and broccoli. Pork was so so, kind of dry, and not very flavorful. It probably was not very fresh being so late at night. Rice was dry but broccoli was good. Overall a C- and I was ready for bed.

For dessert I saved my chocolate cake, DS ate wife’s cake; DD had cheesecake which was pretty good.

Overall rating for Dinner “D”

Breakfast – TS – Tusker House @ AK

Tusker House is a Character Breakfast Buffet. Characters included were Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. We had 8:05 reservation with the park opening at 9:00.

For drinks they have wonderful juice

DS had Mickey waffles (I think he ate 6 of em), carved ham, biscuit, glazed donut, and a banana. All were super yummy.

The rest of us ate eggs, bacon, sausage patty, carved ham, cheese Danish, fresh fruit, oven roasted potatoes, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, apple turnover, and of course MICKEY Waffle’s.

Getting there early is the key. We got a good 10 minutes of eating before characters started. And here they are.

At 45 past the hour they sing and dance around the room with all the kids with African instruments. Just in time to get done in order to be first on the Safari.

Overall rating for food was fresh, hot, cooked perfectly for buffet food. Tie in the atmosphere which is an awesome Disney party air about the place we give this an A+. We recommend doing it early on you AK day to get to off to a roaring start.

No lunch –

Early Dinner - T-Rex – DTD (OOP)

Mistake number 1, skipping lunch, not a great idea with a seven year old. He was cranky. So we ordered an appetizer. We got the Melalosaurus Mozzarella, which is cheese sticks. These were pretty good and came rather quickly unlike our drinks. They were cooked perfectly, outside flavorful and marinara sauce with just the right spice. It also came with a strange melted pile of cheese with sauce under it. It was good but only I ate it. Everyone else was afraid. I give it an A-.

DW got the T-Rexadillas and DD got the Colosso Nachos which they shared. These are both on the appetizer list but are hearty portions. Flavor was just average. Not much meat on the nachos. The quesadillas looked good but both of these get a C rating.

For me I got the Stegosaurus Steak and Cheese Sandwich with chips (fries $2 extra). Chips were actually pretty good. They are the hard, crisp kind, but had good seasoning. The sandwich was average. Size was ok but not many peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I give it a C- only cause of the chips.

DS got the Paleo Pizza, which is cheese pizza. We told him to pick something else but noooooooooo. So of course it was gross. Hard to mess up pizza but they did. Crust was undercooked, sauce was funky, and he ate like two bites. Luckily he ate some off the meat off my sandwich so he didn’t go hungry. This gets an F.

Overall the atmosphere was nice, tables kind of close together, but the food was not good or even close to being worth the price. The service was poor as well. Overall it gets a D+ and we recommend staying away and enjoying Disney instead of this tourist trap.

Oh and to top it off a downpour occurred right as we got ready to exit and go to MK. This means we hung out in the Dino store (which is actually kind of neat) for about an hour since it poured so hard. The help there was so rude to the waiting customers as well because everyone who was waiting was crowded by the check in desk.

I'm looking forward to Tusker house Breakfast too! Glad to see a recent review. It looks like a good one!
