So it isn't okay to have an opinion about some TV personality but it is okay to say something nasty about another person on this board? Why is that? I wasn't being nasty to anyone on this board. I guess if my opinion is different then someone else's then I'm low? Maybe you should take your own advice? Pot. Kettle. Black.![]()

This guy put himself on a show that he knows is demeaning to begin with. That alone says a lot about him.
But there is a difference. You are being rude to another board member. I don't believe that is allowed here. Whether it is your opinion or not has nothing to do with it. Believe me, I have my opinions about some people but I won't say them because I'm not here to attack another board member. I am expressing my opinion about a TV personality. Big difference but one that seems to go over some folks heads.Originally posted by niks81
No, actually I took your advice and voiced my opinion. Thanks for letting me know I could![]()

I don't think you're understanding the point here....sure, voice your opinion all you want. But what you said in a nutshell is that the guy wouldn't get picked because he was ugly (as were the rest of the guys, according to you) and he had a bad accent.
To most reading this, that comes across as shallow. And that is an opinion also.
You are being rude to another board member

Its not about liking his looks. Its about saying she shouldn't pick him JUST BECAUSE he wasn't the "hunk". It was obvious to the watchers of the show that he was the real "catch" because of his actions, not his looks.

I didn't personally attack you...I did not say YOU were shallow, I said your viewpoint came across that way.
I think there are nicer ways to voice your opinion. What you said was kind of harsh...you could have restated it and said "He was a nice guy, but he was just ok looking" or something to that effect. To make comments about all the guys being really ugly and NBC labeling them average is really quite cruel. I think you have offended other board members besides myself with your comments and the way they were stated.
If other board members are offended because I happen to think a TV guy is ugly then the other board members need to get a life! You included! LOL!

My mom watched the whole season and told me much of what went on. That is why I tuned in for the finale....like I said in my first post.
Based on just watching one show I could have told you who the catch was.
And it wasn't Gil![]()

You still aren't getting it.
Its not about the TV show. I'm not defending Brian. In general what you are saying is that because someone isn't a hunk then they don't deserve to be given a chance, even if they are the nicest, most genuine person in the world.
That comes across as shallow whether you think so or not. Not everybody out there is a hunk, but they don't deserve to be turned away by people that think only looks are important.
