Average flight $ from New York to Orlando?

Hello everyone,

We are planning a trip to New York from Canada August 2011. I was thinking about flying to Orlando for 5 days as well. On average how much could I expect to pay for a flight from LGA to MCO? I am just trying to see if this is within our budget. How far in advance can you book a flight?

It would depend on the time of year: high demand vs low demand. School vacations are pricier than down times like mid-September or early December.

Also, flights out of LaGuardia tend to be pricier than flights out of other NYC airports, even JFK. And parking tends to get pricy at NYC airports. As an alternative, there are a number of airports North of the city, on your way back to Canada, which are smaller and a lot cheaper. JetBlue and AirTran fly out of a number of them.

Reserving early enough you should be able to get around $190 pp. But that's historical, you never know what is going to happen next year.
If you're going from NY to MCO and back don't limit yourself to LGA, unless you need to for some reason, JFK and EWR (Newark Liberty) are also good choices with more non-stops to Orlando. Not counting SW, I see 10 non-stops from EWR, 9 from LGA and 16 from JFK, so not including SW that's 35 nonstops a day from NY area airports.

I never pay more than $200 pp roundtrip. But I'm very flexible with my dates and airports.

I also always pay around $200 PP.
This trip we got great rates and are flying for $150 PP out of LGA and back we are landing in JFK.

I agree with everyone else, around $200 per person has been the going rate for a few years now.
