O just started looking into this, honestly because I have two friends that did the tinkerbell marathon last year and bought the cutest shoes!! Rofl! So hubby is a huge superhero fan, so we are discussing. I'm a fast walker, anyone have input or experiences doing these walking? Hubby wants to train to run it. I'd also have our toddler in a stroller, looking at the kids races if anyone has any experiences on those too. Pics would be amazing! Tried searching but wasn't seeing too many from the avengers race last year.

I'd also have our toddler in a stroller,

Not allowed on the course.

Minimum of a 16 minute mile; train for quicker if you want to stop for character photos.

If they bought the New Balance shoes from Disney, remember that not all feet work in those shoes. Mine don't. So don't just buy them because they are cute. No need to ruin your feet!

The W.I.S.H. boards under "Just For Fun" have an Events forum where rundisney stuff is discussed. :)

The race can be done by a fast walker. You have to maintain a 16 minute mile pace. There are pacers and sweep buses. If you are too slow, they will sweep as they need to reopen the roads.

There probably aren't a lot of pictures due to the high winds. Most people were trying to dodge everything the wind was throwing at them. Portapotties fell, mile markers toppled, barriers were blown into police cars, but the cosplay groups were great.

No strollers/toddlers allowed.

My kids did it last year, and we will be signing back up this year. (We've been doing all runDisney Disneyland runs for 4 years.

Runs at Disneyland are super fun! This year was the first year for Avengers and like pp said, the winds were horrid so you might not find too many great pics. I don't actually know how to post pics on this site but if you PM me your email address I can send you some from the Half and from the kids race. The kids races were the day before the half and the weather was fine for them. DD loves the kids races and always has fun doing them! They had 4 of the Avengers out at the finish line cheering for the kids. Your toddler would be able to do them, its broken down by age group, and you could walk/ run with him/her. You can't have a stroller on the course for the Half or 5K though.
