Avatar worth it in 3-D?

Saw it on Wednesday in 3D and Imax...totally worth it. James Cameron didn't rely on the cheesy 3D effects (like stuff coming out at you) but it really provided a depth and reality that you don't get in 2D.

Beautifully shot movie...some of the story was predictable but still well worth seeing.

Our theater is only showing it in 3D. It was really good. I wore my glasses under the 3D glasses and didn't get a headache at all. Some of the action was a bit tough on my eyes/stomach (felt a bit queasy) but I shut my eyes a moment and was just fine. I have to do that in IMAX/Omni movies, too, and 3D stuff at WDW.

Jill, I kept waiting for the Ewoks to show up in the one scene!

With that being said, I LOVED this movie, did not see it in 3D but wished I did..although I do have pretty serious motion sickness so maybe not. The cinematography in certain parts of this movie is simply outstanding. Definitely one that you need to see on the big screen without a doubt.

Okay...we saw it last night in 3-D and loved it! What an escape!
I've never been to a 3-hour movie before where no one got up for the whole show! Thanks for the suggestions.

I wasn't too interested in the movie when we went and saw it (I had no idea what the movie was about) but I LOVED it and want to see it again ASAP (I saw it in 3D). Yeah, some bits of the story was predictable, but the over all movie was amazing.

DH feels we'll be buying 3D movies to play at gone in the near future - that will be interesting
