With all the talk of next-gen queues like you'll see for Dumbo and more interactive in-line experiences, it seems to me that Avatar would offer the perfect opportunity to put it all together.
It seems to me that three of the experiences that might be key to the Pandora experience would be a walking-at-your-own-pace chance to soak in the atmosphere and theme, a ground-based attraction to see the wildlife of Pandora... and of course something that will take you in the air.
Put it all together and maybe you get a choice of paths taking you to the ground-based ride. No lines in the traditional sense -- these are like the two walking trails that already exist in AK, but obviously based on fictional plant life and creatures. These could be longish paths with opportunities to divert and experience smaller things hidden among them -- and if there are two or three paths heading toward the same destination (the ride) it would cut down on the actual herding experience of being in a line.
Then, after the ground-based attraction -- say, a ride through the forest floor and encounters with dangerous beasts -- you go into a holding area that's essentially an elaborate preshow for the next ride where you are given your own "Avatar."
You don't feel like you're waiting in line here, but you are -- and when your Avatar is ready, you head to the next attraction to take to the skies.
Just a thought... but who knows what they're really cooking. Let the five years of wild speculation and rumors of killed projects, failed tech and serious cutbacks -- begin.
