Availability of 2BR over Memorial Day Weekend 2016

I am thinking/planning a May 2016 trip over Memorial Day. I would have to rent points (not a member) and we are still deciding if we want to go. Since I'm not a member, I can't even peek to see if my dates are still available.

How long could I wait to get a reservation at BLT, VGF (dreaming), BWV or BCV?

Owners will book at the 11 month mark. Non-owners will book at 7 months. I think the resorts you chose will be hard to get. Your best bet will be to find an owner at the resort you want the most and have them book soon. Resorts fill up quickly during a holiday period. Points will also be higher. You did not mention what size villa you would need but one bedrooms usually have the best availability. Most of the options have limited availability already. Good luck.

As noted owners of a resort can start booking their home resort 11 months out from date of arrival. Then at 7 months out any DVC owner can book any DVC resort. As a result, you should not wait beyond 7 months out particularly if you want anything at a near park resort, because there is a frenzy of reservation activity at 7 months out that can often fill any rooms not yet filled.

Memorial Day time is a moderate DVC demand time, but even so there are certain rooms that are low in number and have high demand that booking 11 months out is the wise move. In the resorts you list that would include VGF studios, BLT standard view (any size room), and studios and 2BRs in the BWV standard or boardwalk view category. Come 7 months out, all those are likely to be gone. However, at 7 months out you will have a high probability of being able to get any size rom at VGF other than studios and possibly 1BRs, and a high probability for BLT lake view (any size room) and BWV pool/garden view (also any size room). You will also have a decent chance for BWV standard or boardwalk view 1BRs. BLT theme park view is 50/50 if seeking studio or 1BR but 2BR should be open. In a normal year. BCV would also be a good chance except possibly studios, but next year there may be BCV rooms out of service weekly because of refurbishment which could make more things disappear by 7 months out.

Since we are well within 11 months and quickly approaching 7 months, I know we need to make a decision. I had read that May is in the DVC offseason but I wasn't sure how Memorial Day would factor in. Sounds like there is still hope for a 2BR over that weekend but I need to get my decisions made!

Has anyone tried to book lately in the late May time period? I read in the Studio booking patterns thread that VGF 2 bedrooms were still available for that time period. I was wondering if anyone noticed if that was true for BLT 2 bedrooms too.

Right now BLT has availability for lake & theme park view 2 bedrooms from Friday to Monday. VGF also has 2 bedrooms, no studios.
