Availability Just Opened Up for Next Halloween

Well, it looks like they have released whatever hold they had on Halloween dates for next year.

I just looked online today, and without any special tricks, was able to get availability to show for all levels of campsites for October 29th- November 7th.

They must've opened everything up. I just checked and you can get premium sites for Thanksgiving 09. We are thinking about going so i booked a site.

I spoke to group sales today, I will pm you with a price for Oct. I thinks its good, I only reserved 10 sites. I also went on live before I spoke to her and booked the site because it came up. It is about $10 cheeper for the group in full hookup. Not as good for July.

where do you book? i'm using the disney.com site and am not finding anything Is there a trick to this?

If you go to:

http://bookwdw.reservations.disney....ocessEngine?startOver=true&gatewayID=landing#

Then click on "Book Room Only"

Plug in your dates and party size

Then click on "Advanced Search"

Then click on "I know the Resort I Want"

A scroll box will appear, then choose
"Disney's Fort Wildernes Campsites" at the bottom of the list.

Then click continue.

You may still have to play with dates some, adding more dates than you need. Wednesday arrivals and Tuesday departures seem to bring up elusive weekend dates.

I was just able to book 10/24 - 11/6. We will be in one of the full-hook up pet loops. It will be the puppies first trip! It will also be our first time for Halloween and Mickey's Halloween Party! Time to start thinking up pet costumes and golf cart decorations for the parades

BTW - does anyone know if they happen to offer free dining that time next year, can I apply it to an existing reservation? I know with the camper most people probably don't do the meal plan, but my girls love the character meals so we do it mostly for that.

The free dining is never offered with the campsites, only the cabins.

Oh, okay thank you. That is silly though as they still charge me the same price for the dining plan that they charge anyone else.

You can "buy" the dining plan, but just can't get the "free" dining plan.

They decided not to offer it because of the price of the sites and the number of people allowed on each site. The locals already get Value rooms without actually staying there just to get the Free Dining, can you imagine how many campsites would be booked up with locals not staying there and 10 folks per site with free dining. The campground usually fills up anyway, so they don't have to offer it.
