Availability in May

Hi! We just got back from visiting DH's parents in Spain. Didn't have a great time, bad weather, boring resort, cramped room. It made us realise how much we love our DVC!

We did a 120 point SSR add on a week ago so with the bonus points and a little borrowing we can squeeze an extra trip in. DH has suggested May! I am sure I read that the resorts are full in May due to the birthday celebrations but as we just got back from a week away I am very behind with the messages.

Anyone reckon we could get a 1 bed at any resorts for 14 nights in May? Probably got more chance of winning the lottery right? We always plan way in advance but with those extra points....

I guess I will ring MS later when DH finds out which dates he could escape work.

I don't know what your chances are this close, I'm a novice at this, but why not try? Give it a go! I'm sure there's something available some where in DVC!

Not sure either...you'd need to call MS but....I'd guess that if you can be flexible about which resort and maybe about villa size and dates you could get something...just may not be your exact first choices. Have back up choices when you call to check and let us know how you make out

AFAIK, the only problem time is the first week of May due to press events being held at WDW. With the press coming to town, many of the cash resorts are filling up.

I have yet to see anything on the DVC boards indicating that DVC accommodations are unavailable for extended periods.

I called MS this morning to get a studio May 21-24. SSR was the only one that was available. I was told that there were plenty of one-bedrooms at BWV around that time. Not sure if this info helps.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I called MS and asked for availability in a 1 bedroom for 14-28 May. Guess what? ALL WDW resorts were available except BCV. I was amazed. I asked about Vero too and that wasn't available on the dates I wanted for a 1 bed. But CRO quoted me a good price with a discount I saw in my Birnbaum book.

I was totally delighted! I held seats on a flight. Started getting really excited until DH comes home from work and says a guy at work has booked 3 odd days off work scattered through May so we cannot go!!! They cannot both be off at the same time. So unless we can get him approval for the time off we will have to think about June. Oh well, great to know that there was availability. I had figured 3 nights at Vero followed by 11 nights at VWL. DD will be 2 on 22 May so we would have been there for her birthday.
