Availability 180 days out

If you are not booking your reservation after the 180 day mark then the hot dining times even at less popular restaurants will get booked. Your best bet is to make your reservations with the assumption that your whole party will be going. You can always show up to a reservation or take people off a reservation BUT you will find great difficulty in adding people. So book what you want now and modify later if you have to. The longer you wait the less options you will have. Think outside the box with your timing. Maybe you have a late big breakfast so dinner can be on the earlier side or if you get a later dinner reservation it might just mean grabbing an afternoon snack. I planned a NYE trip 2 months out and was able to get many reservations by stalking and being flexible with my times.

Most of the time I don't think they hold and open up reservations later.

I’m booking around 6:30 am on Day 180 each morning. I have yet to get a 5:30 reservation for H&V, Crystal Palace, TRex cafe, or Sci Fi.

I’m not new to Disney or booking restaurants there. I’ve never even booked this far out in the past and haven’t had as much trouble as I’m having now. It’s frustrating to do it the right way and not get what I want.

Update: more H&V times have been opening each day. Nothing for Sci Fi yet.

Why are they doing this in stages!?!?!?!

I booked SciFi for March 9 this morning, had no problem getting the early evening time I wanted. Also had no trouble with TRex, which I've struggled to get before, which is the one restaurant both my kids wanted. I'm *hoping* this means there will smaller crowds in March next year..... ( I know, wishful thinking. )

I will wish with you, my TA made our reservations and got all we wanted at the times we wanted for a party of 5. Was most concerned about these - Ohana, CRT & BBB (although these 2 are March 14, our last day at Disney). Sci-Fi was on the 12th.

Uhm. This may be incorrect info, but I think trex is like yak &yeti : you can call them directly to more easily get a reservation. I'm blown away that sci fi is now a hard one to book....

Also like Yak & Yeti, if you have the Landry’s card you get priority seating even over people with ADRs. It costs $25, but you get $25 off your first meal.

YES. Even if you have an ADR, if you have the card, you get priority / front of the line treatment. They definitely treat you right.

At 180 days out there are many people who have booked their trip ADRs that start before yours. Trip start date plus 10 days.... :( On the other side, the 45 prior to arrival is always happening which releases ADRs everyday as people find themselves needing to cancel their plans.

To close the loop on this, a bunch of reservations became available around 6:30 PM on the day I wanted. I booked a table for nine, and there are still open reservations around 630. It seems the spots were held back And just released?
