I know this sounds crazy, but here goes anyway. I haven't been since 2002 and I really can't remember....but do the toilets at WDW automatically flush??? These automatic flushers scare the bejesus out of my daughter. So, if they are, I need to get her prepared for this....

Most are the automatic flushers, although there are still a few you have to flush yourself. I was just reading a similar post last week, and they suggested carrying a pack of small post it notes with you. Stick one over the sensor before your DD goes. This will keep it from flushing until you are ready and your daughter is away from the potty!

Sunnymommy, I feel for your DD! Some of them scare me ,too!
The post it note trick is a good one. But if you forget it then any thing that you can use to block the little light will work, even if you hold your finger over it. That might not work, depends on the shyness/age of DD. But I have done it for my little neice, and it works.

No it isn't a crazy question. My daughter was scared of auto flushing potties so I had to figure out which ones didn't. The only one that I found in the MK is at Liberty Tree Tavern. When you enter the restaurant, go to the right and go up the stairs. The restrooms are upstairs in the restaurant. I never had any problems going in and using the restroom even if we weren't eating there. The post it note idea is good too. I held toilet paper over the sensor. The only problem is that sometimes the flush is on a timer so it will flush even if the sensor isn't activated. Good luck!

Not a crazy question, I took my DD4 1/2 when she was potty training and she hated the bathrooms because of the automatic flushers and they get your tushie wet as well. We had to take a pull-up or too and she was very happy when she could go back to the room so she could go in a "better potty".

The bathroom at CRT also is not automatic. I also think the one in Cosmic Rays is manual, but I could be wrong on that one.

At Epcot the UK and Germany are manual.

My dd was not afraid, but she didn't like the automatic ones. The would flush away the seat cover before she could sit down if she wasn't super careful.

That is the first thing my DDs (6 and 4) check for--will the potty flush "without them."

I have read that people bring along band-aids and post-it notes, but covering it with your hand works as well.

Now the automatic faucets, soap and towel dispensers--those they LOVE!

My daugher has this problem too... she will not go period if it flushes by itself. You can promise you'll keep it from flushing, she still won't go for it and will hold it until we get back to the hotel.

Most of the toilets in disney flush themself... a few don't. I know the ones in the lobby at Contemporary don't.

That's so funny since it scares my son too!!! He makes me go in the stalls with him if they have them and flies away from the toilet as soon as he is done. He hates them.

My girls hate them too!! I tell them to sway on the seat to fool the mechanisim. Works!!

We call them "MAGIC" flushers ...

DD is older now but we had some rolicking good times trying to get the paper seat down before the thing would flush it away ... i cant count how many times the crazy thing would flush before one of us was finished!!
we'd come out of the stall in hysterics.

its funny ... but magic flushers is one of the things that signals to my brain that i'm in WDW. i find the potty in Libert Tree "boring"

try the post-it trick ... it works

learn to love the magic flushers!

It is a little known fact that the toilets do not, in fact, flush automatically. It is the responsibility of the 8th dwarf, Dumpy, to flush every toilet after use.

Two more manuals....The Rain Forest CAfe in AK, and the photo shop at the beginning of MGM. Trust me...we had to find these the hard way...MAJOR TRAUMA!!! :scared1: LOL!

OMG!!! I am so glad my dd is not the only one! My dd6 is scared to death of these toilets. She loves roller coasters. Even the ones that go upside down, but refuses to sit on an automatically flushing toilet. She ended up at the doctor's last time.....this time I am going to have to force her to go!
