Autographs...who does and who doesn't?

OK, to start, I never loved autographs...I think it totally slows down the character lines, but it is for my cousin!
My cousin took her boys to Disneyland this summer (from Nebraska) and she had wanted to have the characters autograph their t-shirts. Well, apparently it is a no-no for the characters to sign shirts while ON the kids. So she mailed them back out to me, since she knows we go all the time.
So, we kinda ran into who we saw last week, and got a few, very few signatures.
So, do all the characters have an autograph, or just certain ones? Do they do autographs at the established places, like pixie hollow and Mickey's house? I was thinking about doing a character meal jusgt to knock a whole bunch out- do they do autographs at character meals? And is there an etiquette to getting autographs?
Thanks!

They do autographs at all of the meet and greets (Toontown and Pixie Hollow included) and character meals that I know of, with the exception of the birthday celebration on Main Street. Mickey and Minnie make an appearance there, but they don't sign autographs.

The only character that we have run into that wouldn't sign an autograph is Sully (the CM handler that was with him said he was "afraid of pens".) I don't know if there are others that can't sign. If there are, we haven't run into them yet. :)

We have the pen and page ready to go when we get an autograph, but other than that, I don't know that there is an etiquette, other than the obvious that you need to wait in line and not shove your kids up to the front. :goodvibes

We did autographs when our oldest DD (now going on 7) was just a wee munchkin of two. Obviously, it was more for me and DH than for her. We didn't do it last time we were there when eldest DD was 4 and youngest was 18 months. We knew eldest wouldn't be into it. Now that you bring it up though, I think she probably will like doing it for her 7th birthday trip, but I'll leave it up to the two DD's.

By the way, since the thread is here, and someone answering will likely know the answer...do all the sigs from the same character look the same? For example, does the Belle signature from PFF on Monday morning look the same (approximately) as the Belle signature from Ariel's Grotto on Wednesday evening even if the character is played by different CMs? Do they practice the sig to get it to look a certain way?

I've read that part of the character training is the autograph.

Yes the autographs all look the same! :) My oldest is almost 8 and she has been getting autographs since she was 4. DD2 was pretty shy on the last trip about it, but I have a feeling she will be getting into it more on our next trip.

Another reason for identical autographs is that if one kid visited WDW and the friend visited Disneyland and both kids met the same character, comparing the autographs would not ruin the "magic."

Koda and Kenai (from Brother Bear) cannot sign either. Their big paws just won't hold a pen. But they will pose for pics!
