Autograph Mat :: Best size IYO?

I bought 7 (or so) sharpies in a variety of colors. Walmart had them for 78 cents each.
I'm going to put mine in my carry-on, within a large ziplock baggie with cardboard on either side of the mat.
Hope that helps- I can let you know in a few weeks how it worked out!

I bought a mat for our cruise (May 2014) ... I'm also worried about transporting it. I can't wait to hear how others get it home without damage.

I bought an 8x10 mat with a 5x7 opening. I had 20 sharpies that came in a pack. To travel I put the mat, and the back of the frame( to keep it straight) in a ziplock bag. When I gave it to GS they had me add the markers to the mat bag. I put the bag in the middle of my folded clothes in my suitcase. It traveled perfectly! I do have a picture, but I don't know how to post it. I had the Mickey gang and princesses sign, and it came out great.

I used painters tape, but I pressed it down firmly and got a small tear. I put the mat in a 2 gallon Ziploc bag and then put it in a large zipper compartment of my suitcase.

What about pillow cases? Has anyone done those? Sharpies or Fabric Markers?

I used an 11x14 with a 5x7 opening and it turned out fabulous! I didn't use tape, just traced where the frame hit the mat with a pencil (lightly), and wrote in the part that would be hidden "please don't sign here" and also, I noted how I wanted the picture orientated (portrait/landscape)! If using colored markers, I recommend not taking the yellow one! The signatures with yellow don't show up very well!
