OK, this started out as an easy idea
, I mean how hard can it be
, I will print Heather's cards, get them autographed and I will be able to put autographed cards in the photo album I am making for my Mom. You see, my Mom is 80 and she wanted to take "one more trip" down so she could see Disney through the eyes of her great grandchildren. I figure my nieces will probably not remember her, (they are 3) so I will make a photo memory book and in years to come they will look through it and see MeMom and remmber her fondly (as long as she doesn't yell at them, the older she gets, the more she yells,
). SO I started saving Heather's designs. I then realized I didn't know where to find these stupid characters and being the OCD type I figured I would need to find a guide to take with me. Well, there is more than one guide on the internet and some are more up to date than others. So a week later, I had about 30 cards downloaded and a character listing that listed all the characters that sign (I didn't include ones that don't sign autographs like Nemo), where they can be found and how hard/easy they are to find. I shared it with people on these boards and they found some typos and missing characters, which I have now corrected.
Back to the autograph cards. Now Heather is a fine, fine autograph card maker, but she got sick before the holidays. The good news is she is fine now and has finished all of her cards (she does 4x6 and 6x6, with names and without). However, at the time I wasn't sure if she was going to finish them, so I started making them. 140 cards later I said enough is enough. I never finished (nor am I ever going to finish) the power rangers as my nieces don't really care about the power rangers and I can't tell them apart and there are very few Power Ranger gifs floating around.
Plus Heather made them and they are better than what I would do.
Now I had to figure out how to take my 165 cards (2 of each one you know because I have to make two books cause my mom now wants one
). So I put them in baggies, but that was cumbersome, then I tried envelopes, but that was a pain also. Then I came up with the idea of putting them in a photo book I got from AC Moore that cost $1. It holds 100 photos, so I needed two books. The cards are alphabetical (of course they are, I am neurotic, we already established that fact
) so they will be easy to find. I take the appropriate character card out when we find the character. I put a spring clip on the outside of the book so I can clip the autograph card there, so it is easier to write on. I then put them away in the back of the book with empty pages.
So if you want the finalized character listing email me at
chaoscent@verizon.net.
It also includes who made the card. If I made the card, this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1640251 is where my cards can be found.
If Heather made the card, designated by an H, her cards can be found here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1608084
In many cases we both made them, so there's a P&H at the end so you can look at both and decide. I tried to include all the cards Heather made on this sheet, but I didn't include the 6x6 cards. If you want 6x6, go to Heather's thread as I only make 4x6.
Well that's my story and I am sticking to it. This small little project turned into a fun,
frustrating,
activity, but I learned a whole lot about frames, and layers and text, so in the end I guess it was worth it. I will probably be lucky to actually get about 10 or 15 autographs.
I am now working on my door signs. Then I print my tshirts and Maid tip envelopes and hopefully finish it all before 2/5, which is when we leave. Take care, Penny
