Autograph Etiquette?

As weird as this sounds, as many times as I've been to Disney, both as a child and an adult (and it's probably over 30!) I have never tried to get autographs. My daughter will have just turned 4 when we go later this month, and I wanted to let her try the whole autograph thing. Even though I am not a scrapbooker, I was thinking it would be nice to snap pictures of her and put them on the facing pages of the book. Except the only small-sized scrapbook I could find at MIchaels only has 20 pages in it. Do you have characters sign only one to a page? Is it rude to ask characters that are together to sign on the same page? I don't want to run out of space !

They usually sign one to a page - the signatures are mostly large. If you ask, I'd bet that some or even most characters would be able to have 2 signatures on a page, though. It certainly wouldn't be rude to ask, even if some decline.

Whatever happens, I hope your DD enjoys the autographs. It's so much fun when the kids enjoy meeting the characters and you'll get some great pictures.

We have the characters sign one to a page. I don't think it would be rude to ask a character to sign more than one to a page but I think it might be difficult for some of them to do that as they cannot see very well. Certainly, though, the face characters could - you could have a whole "princess" page, for example.

We bought the pink princess autograph books at the park and they all just signed one to a page. After we filled up two of these, we bought the smaller blue autograph book (no room for a picture on the opposite page) and they did sign, one to a page, but on the back---so every page was used.

Chip and Dale sign together...I'm sure they will sign anyway you want. However, they may end up signing on top of each other's signatures because it is hard for the characters to see the pages really clearly.

I made an autograph scrapbook for both my kiddos when we went last Dec. I found stickers of each character and decorated the pages. I only decorated one side and left room on the facing page for them to sign. Most characters signed on their page but some like Jafar stayed in character and signed the other side (which was okay too). The characters really liked the books, sometimes even bringing other characters over and showing them their pages. Kiddos really like the extra attention! :cool1:

We have the characters sign one to a page as well, since their signatures are large.
The first time we went down, my younger sister drew a (however crooked and shakey) line down the middle of one of the pages (length-wise. She had Mickey sign the top half, and had Minnie sign the bottom half, and there was no problem with the size of their signatures.

However, on another occasion when presenting Donald with a blacnkpage, he went ahead and signed on TOP of Chip's page, since Chip was on the opposite page, but that might've just been Donald's jealousy and almightness :rolleyes1

Chip and Dale sign together
When we went Chip signed first, then Dale delibrately flipped to the back of the book and signed :confused3 Maybe they were having a sibling feud?

On our last trip, alot of characters together signed on the same page. My 3yo wasn't great about giving his book to characters. Usually if two or more were standing together-- he ran up to one, and the other took the book for me, signed it and handed it to the other characters who many times signed on the same page. I know two of the Little Einsteins signed on the same page, Woody and Jessie signed on the same page and Chip and Dale.

I am new and can't figure out how to post except a reply so sticking this here.
Target has pens in their Dollar Spot now that I think would make perfect autograph book pens - they are fat pens with the little levers at the top to selct ink color, they have a cord so you could wear it around your neck or tie it on something AND they have 2 Disney styles - pink princesses and purple Winnie the Pooh.

leaving Sat for WDW!!!!!

I used acid free paper and had the characters sign their names on single sheets (with a hard backing) So when I go to scrapbook, I can place their signatures anywhere on the page, and put as many as needed on the page as well.

If you use one of the autograph books and you want to be able to cut the pages out to paste into a scape book or something, when you first get the book, go through and 'X' out the back of every page so the character's won't sign on the back. If you don't do this, they can pretty much start to sign just about any where.
