autograph books?

hey everyone....i was just wondering if anyone here has made their own autograph books before. if so is there like a link of ideas or pictures of how they turned out? my friends want to make one and just looking for some starters...thanks!

Hello,

I just started making an autograph book after reading about the good reception they get.

I'm just using clip art of each character and writing their name - one per page - leaving space for the character to sign. I'm doing it all digitally but I know people have scrapped theirs.

Anyway I'm "bumping" this up in the hope that someone else can offer some creative advice!

I am making my own autograph book also. I am leaving the left side of the page for the pic and the right side of the page for the tag autograph. The autograph/scrapbook is almost done prior to going to the park/cruise.Basically when I get home from the vacation all I have to do is place the pic in the book. I am using an 8x8 3 ring album so I won't have to carry the book with me, just the pages.

i like ur idea marypoppinsiam....my friends and i went to ac moore and got a small binded sketchbook to use as our book. we bought disney scrapbooking paper and covering the cover and stickers that say 'magical disney memories' with mickey and such. but i like the idea of leaving the other flipside blank to put the picture of the character when we get home...hmm ill have to plan my book all over now lol

the way we handled this was to get each child (my 14 and 7 yr old) a book. the seven year old used a traditional 5x7 book and the 14 a 7x9 book. We gave them each a acid free pen(EK), I braided ribbon and taped the pen to the ribbon. then I had them put the pen in between the pages they had just had signed. OH, ,sorry I left this out, pretty important part, We had the characters sign on the left hand page and leave the right hand side blank for the photo,.
After the character signed the book they were able to move the pen and go to the next page. My 14 yr old handled it with flair and my seven year old only needed help occasionaly. Now as we scrap they are able to go page to page. Embellish, scrap and put in their photos to their hearts delight.

I made mine like a scrap book i found pictures of each character and colored them and put them on the page and left a blank page for the picture i added some embelishments and got lots of compliments from the characters. this year my husband i went with out any kids and this was my book. make sure you fix the characters to look like they dress at that park or resteraunt they notice the difference and enjoy that you took the time. you can also make a page for the daper dans on main street. i did this because my daughter works on main street and they are friends of hers but they enjoy doing autographs too. some pages i mad pockets and put tags for the different characters. make it flashy and eye catchy they like it just carry a large sharpie for them to sign with it is easier for the characters with gloved hands. have fun and if you have kids let them color the characters. you can get characters from cliparts and disney sites it is so much fun my grandaughters helped me have fun.

now sheridee, did u put the characters in the book before your trip? how did u know which ones to put and if u would find them? and what if u ran into a suprise character u normally dont see, like robin hood? just wondering cause i like your idea...

DD filled up her Autograph book that we got last year from WDW. So I am glad I found this. I was wondering what would be a good way to start another one.

i left a few blank pages and added the picture when we got home. Some i put in i did not get their autograph on this trip because we never could catch them. so i just took pictures of them in the parade and put them on their page with no signiture, if there was an extremely long line i just took there picture so the little kids could get up to the character. I knew who would be at what meals and so some meals i just used the picture instead of repeating an autograph if i already had it. if get to go the summer of 06 we will be taking our grandaughtres and we are going to start making them as soon as we pay for our trip. i have little advantage to knowing about the characters were abouts my daughter works on main street.

Mine's not fancy, but I did "scrap" it rather than print it. I just had so much on hand that it was easy to pull together I used the 6x6 top-loading album, thinking I wouldn't have to crop the photos when I got home...could just stick it in. I *was* rather neurotic though...I carried the entire album with me, along with 15 colors of ZIG markers (the signatures just HAD to match the layouts!). I also carried a small size clipboard to put the page on when we found the character...that way it wasn't slipping and sliding around when they were trying to sign.Here are a few of the layouts. Having to pull out the page and get it in the clipboard was only a problem if we were in the front of the line....then I just let one person go ahead of us The characters LOVED their special pages, as did all the CM "handlers" who were with them.

I also took along LOTS of extra 6x6 papers....mostly white but some solid cardstock. That way, I could make a page when I got home. For instance, I didn't make a page ahead of time for the Queen of Hearts, but I did have red paper, so when we ran into her at the park, I got her to sign on red paper and then scrapped it when we got home.

Cute pics and layouts. I love scrapping in the smaller albums, the LO seem to just go faster. I also love the idea that at least one vacation scrapbook will be 3/4 of the way done BEFOREthe vacation!!
