Hiya

Trying to get bits and bobs together for the kids Xmas surprise... so far they have a backpack with lanyard, pins, disney sunglasses, mickey/minnie ears and a wallet each. I think it's missing an autograph book but I can't find any anywhere!

Tried ebay - £12 delivered, times that by 4 and it becomes quite expensive (plus there don't appear to be any UK ones and I'm worried they'll get battered in the post!)

Any ideas? :goodvibes

I made my own and the kids got loads of comments about them. I just got A5 artists books from ebay, printed out each childs name and then covered the front in sticky plastic. I then printed out loads of characters and stuck a different one on each page....I got one page signed and left the opposite one free so that we could stick a photo in when we returned.

At the price you have seen it may be better to have a go at doing your own like Sapper suggests.
We have had the autograph books that you buy in the parks before and they are pretty boring if I am honest. Loads of blank pages and thats about it. There are people on here that have done their own, either using the method mentioned or on line, that are totally personalised to the individual. I like the idea of this and may give it a goo for our next trip, but by then the kids will be older than the last time we went so they may not actually be needed at all :goodvibes

I also make my own but I only have one child and I'll be honest with you, I could never afford to do four! The last one cost just over £30 at the end and I think last year's one was ony about £3 less.

Does each child want their own book? I know this question could open a can of worms, but some families get one or two books between the kids and they share it. Not sure if that would work for you.

Alternatively, you can buy autograph books at most of the stores in the parks and resorts for under $10, which is still cheaper than £12 a piece.

Perhaps using Sapper's idea you could even get the kids involved with some packs of stickers and pens and let them decorate their own :)

This is a good point. When the troops were little we had 3 autograph books that needed to be signed. But only had a photo of them all rather than individual photos.
So the solution that our lot were happy with was to get one autograph book with the pocket for a photo.
This way we only need characters to sign one book and save on the expense of 3 books :goodvibes

An idea for a budget option would be to try 'The Works'. They're of course not disney ones but I pick up one that was yellow fronted one with multi-coloured pages back in the summer for 99p. It does say autographs on the front. My son really liked it even though it was not an official one.

Another thing that works well is to get some card stock, cut it into 4/6 inch cards, buy a clipbaord (you can get them at Tesco at the moment for £1.20) so that the characters have a surface to lean on when signing and when you get home you could buy a flip style photo album and put the autographs with the corresponding photo of the kids with the characters opposite each other. You would want a good zip loc type bag to keep the cards clean and dry when carrying around the parks but this is quite an effective, yet cost effective way to collect autographs - especially if you would like each child to have his/her own.

Just reading again over your first post: Were the eBay ones you saw including international shipping charges? I ordered things online and had them delivered right to my resort which gave me free shipping

If you want I will bring some back in February for you?

Thank you so much for the kind offer!! I was about to jump on it, then I remembered I need them in time for Xmas as that's when we are surprising them :( it's really nice of you to offer though, and I hope you have a magical trip

Oh and I think I must have searched wrong on eBay as what i came up with to start with was ludicrous! Sharing could be an option - I have twins so they're used to it (unfortunately) :rotfl:
