Was thinking of buying a book with blank pages to use as autograph book.

What I think I would like to do is either just keep the autographs together OR put them next to photos in a 4x6 photo album. What do you think is best?

Questions:

- what's the minimum pages you would buy?

At the stores I've seen BOUND journal and sketch books that are about 5.5 x 8.5. The sketch books seemed nice (I think there was one with perforation so that you could tear it out afterwards), although I'm not sure what the difference is between a journal and a sketch book?? - anyone know difference??

I've seen journal books with either white or colored pages - which would you choose?. Is this size too big? would it be awkward to carry around?
(by the way, I saw the sketch book also in a 3.5 x 5 size - is this too SMALL??? - sure easy to carry!!)

At borders bookstore I also saw a pretty 4x6 book with blank white pages - the pages were bound together like memo pads, but they were bound. What do you think of this?

The memory books I saw at michael were, i think, 6x6?? (perhaps slightly larger?) but only had 35 pages.

Pls advise. thanks

P.S.: I also saw a painters white cap at michaels for 99 cents - has anyone used this to get autographed? It looked kind of thin on top (good for hot weather, but is it good for autograph?)

We used a Creative Memories 4x6 scrapbook. It was easy to carry around and you can take the pages out and put them back in if you need to do so. The characters try to autograph on the page that is open, however my son would get excited and he would lose his spot. So it was nice to have pages that could be moved around.

Also, keep in mind that the characters are used to signing the autograph books the parks sell. If you have your own book, be sure to hand it to them in a way that will let them know the top of the book. I noticed a few of them would look at the front cover of the book to make sure the book was upright.

And don't forget your fat sharpie marker! The fatter the pen the easier for the characters to sign with their big hands.

Have fun collecting autographs. I didn't know if my son would like it since he is somewhat reserved, however having the excuse of getting an autograph allowed him to join in and by the end of the vacation track down characters and ask for his book.

we are thinking of getting an autograph picture mat. i've seen them for/with wedding supplies. Guests autograph the mat and there is a 5X7 opening in the middle for a photograph. That way we can take a family picture and enjoy the memories instead of packing away in a drawer the autograph book.

They now sell the Autograph book that have a place for the 4x6 picture on the top and room for the autograph on the bottom. I saw them in January... They were about $15.. They have a princess one for the girls and a Buzz ( not to definate on that) one for the boys..

We bought a spiral bound book of index cards (I think the cards are 3x5 plus the extra for binding & perferation). Then I bought Disney stickers and letter stickers. My kids decorated their "authograph books" with the stickers and then I lamindated the front and back covers to keep the stickers on and protect it a little. The size of the book fits great in their fanny packs. I also suggested that if we get autographs on the blank side of the card then it leaves the lined side for them to make notes of who the character is that signed.

I've been to WDW three times in the last 18 months and did three different autograph books.

The first time we used Disney's 4x6 autograph books ... readily available and easy to use, but the pages are too flimsy (IMHO) to mount a photo on.

Visit #2 I took 5x7 CM albums (these are no longer available, but you could use the new 7x7) ... I had the characters sign both the front anc back of each page. When we came home I inserted blank pages between the autographed pages to put my character/kid photos on. These were a bit bulky to carry and b/c the kids each collect 50+ autographs I had to separate the autographs into 2 albums for each of the two grandkids.

In January I ordered from the Laughing Place Store autograph books similar to the ones Rapunsel mentioned ... on each page they have a sleeve for a 4x6 photo and a place for the character's autograph. We had issues with these ... the pages are slick and the autographs smudged (I finally switched from my CM round-tip pen to a ballpoint pen) and the signature area is rather small. Donald Duck wrote across the photo sleeve ... what a mess, luckily I was able wipe the marker off the sleeve with a wet paper towel. These autograph books had room for 28 signatures/photos

For our upcoming trip I purchased the Disney 4x6 books again ... but am not sure I will use them
