We have gone to WDW several times with our kids toting along each an autograph book and pen. We have also tried the Pluto dog for signing, and used hats. What other things do you use for characters to sign?

Also, I read on one post that someone reccommeded not to use permanent markers. I have used these before and have had no trouble. What are the Fat Pens? Just wondering.:) :bounce:

Hi, We just got back and I saw a very cute idea at the Cindy's breakfast. A girl had a baseball style t-shirt that said "princess" on the front and she had all of the princesses sign the shirt in permanent marker. It was so cute and I am so jealous that I didn't think of it!

The fat pens are for the characters that have big gloves on their hands and would have trouble holding a small pen.

I'm thinking of doing shirts and baseball caps as gifts for my niece and nephew.

DS and I will attend many character meals during our next trip.

We had lithographs signed by the characters with a gold calligraphy pen. Took a few of the liths we got from buying the DVD along with a clipboard to a character meal. We asked Belle at CRT and she signed for herself and the Beast. Ariel signed in the Grotto. When we returned, we got them framed. Even took pictures at the signing.

Now it is a bit of trouble to carry the stuff around all day and not damage the picture. We did it when we were staying at the CR and could hop to our room and store them.

Remember, too, it is a big no-no for a character to sign any article of clothing that you are wearing at the time.

Why is this?

I was not aware of this as I am sure I have seen kids wearing Disney shirts and getting the characters to sign them!

They say no permanant markers because they can be messy and may stain the CM's costumes.

It's a liability issue. The characters are trained to not do this just in the off chance that the ink bleeds through and the child is allergic. As for permanent markers, I've never heard this. The characters actually prefer them as they are easier to sign with.

I used blank 3 x5 cards. I hope to make a scrapbook, and plan to incorporate the autographs with the pictures we took.
