Autograph Book ???

I am taking four of the five kids to Disney for their first and most likely only time ever!:cheer2: :cheer2: I am trying to make autograph books, and clearly I am doing something wrong.:confused3

I go to Photobucket where the amazing designs are, save a picture to my desktop and when I try to insert or paste it to Word, it loses quality, to the point of being barely legible.

Clearly I am missing something! Can anyone help? We leave in 6 weeks and I have four books to make!

Thanks!

What I did is used Publisher. I saved all the images into a file on my computer, then on page 1 i added cover at top and autograph page at bottom. On page 2 I had childs information at top and autograph at bottom. This way when I went to print i would print 1st page, flip over and print 2nd. This way the cards were double-sided and in order. Then took to kinkos and had them bind it. Cost me a TON of ink but sooo worth it. Characters loved them too:banana:
Here is a photo of one of them.

I have about 130 cards ready to print but I'm kinda stressing over whether or not I should make 1, 2, or 3 identical books for my daughters (ages 3, 5, and 21). I also have a teen son but I don't think he's much interested in autographs....well, except maybe for Tinkerbell and that's cuz he's crushing on pretty fairies right now! LOL

Anyway, should I just make the one for all to share? Or should I make 2 ... 1 for the little girls and 1 for the older daughter? OR should I do 3...1 for each one?

Arrrrggghhh! I need some pixie dust!!!

Thanks!

Last time I went we took our 2 yr old DS, 6 yr old DD and 16 yr old DS. My suggestions are to first make sure that the 3 yr old likes the characters.(speaking from experience) MY DS(2) was NOT a big fan :sad2: and I thought maybe the more he saw them the less scared he would be.....WRONG!!:lmao: So i just ended up lugging around an autograph book the whole trip. DS(16) pretty much told me that getting autographs was soooo gay. :scared1: So basically that was 2 books i could have left home.:sad2: Moral of the story, ASK your kids if they want them or not. Will save you $$$ and weight from the extra baggage fees.:rotfl2:

DD loved it though :thumbsup2:cool1::banana:

What type of paper did you use to print on? They look beautiful!

Thank you for sharing. Your autograph book looks beautiful.

Let me know if you want the cover personalized. Plus there are blanks in my account if you want to personalize them yourself. Have fun. :goodvibes Penny:hippie:

Could I get the one with Mickey and Minnie on the beach.

Loving everyone's books! Thanks for the helpful tips.

How did everyone decide on which pages to add to your books?

I have spent the afternoon reading this thread, and copying. I would like to thank everyone for the advice and the autograph pages are beautiful. A big Thank You for Chaoscent.

I just printed out the cards for the autographs that I & DS wanted. I also printed out some generic autograph cards with the name on the of the park on it.

I print mine on 4x6. You can buy index cards at Walmart that are all white and are already cut down to 4x6 (pretty inexpensive...around $1.26 I think), but I like to buy cardstock and cut it down to 4x6 because it is a lot thicker than the index cards. You can get 3 4x6 cards per 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock.

Also, in page setup...set the top margin to .25 and the rest of the margins to .2 (bottom, left and right margins).

Go to file then page setup in Word and set the paper to 4 by 6 inches. Then paste the pictures/autograph pages into the document. Go to format then picture and click on size. Change the height to 3.55 inches and the width will automatically adjust. This will leave a little bit of white around the picture. Also...make sure you center it on the page.

If you don't want any white around it...in page setup under the "paper" tab set the paper to borderless 4x6 photo then you can make the picture bigger and have no white around the border. I prefer a little white as it looks good and saves on ink...just a little...but when you are printing 236 cards like I did every little bit helped.

Hope this helps!

I tried this but when I resize the pictures they go all blurry, any tips.

Any tips for using Wordpad, paint or Photoshop? Those are the only programs that I have available.

Also, about how many color ink cartridges will I need if I print these at home?
