Autograph Book Question

I am thinking of having a photo book made to use for my kids autograph books. I was wondering if anyone has used them and if so, do you have the characters sign with sharpie markers and do they smudge on the photo paper??

Just wanna make sure its worth it

I recently had mine made and I tested with a retractable Sharpie and it did not smudge.
