Has anyone taken the Auto Train to WDW? We are driving in April and considering taking the Auto Train instead. Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated.

Thanks

we took it in june of 2009 - LOVED IT. It was me and my DD4 - we booked a bedroom - and would do it again in a heartbeat!

People either love it or hate it. I thought it was great, but DH whined the entire trip

We've done the AT twice so far. The first time, we purchased coach seats and it was a bit difficult to get a decent night's sleep, especially so for tall or bigger people. My DH is a bit over 6 feet tall, and he couldn't get comfortable to save his life. I'm only 5'2", and I was OK. We brought travel pillows and comfy blankets.

The second time we took the AT, we upgraded to a 2-person sleeper room, and it was worth every dime. We arrived at Sanford feeling great.

Are there any specific questions you have?

My parents did it a few years ago. They were lucky enough that their car was last on and first off.

They started out sitting downstairs, but it was too noisy due to loads of children, and the people from upstairs traipsing down to the dining car.

They were lucky enough to move upstairs and find two seats and stayed up there - much more peaceful.

My dad also mentioned they blew the horn a great deal, when they got to RR crossings, so they slept fitfully at best.
