can anyone confirm that staying a disney world resort and using disney transportation gets an automatic early PAT/boarding group?

It does not. The night before your cruise, you'll receive a pick up time for the following day. You could arrive to the port relatively early, but you might not arrive until quite late. Luck of the draw, depending on the bus schedule for that day.

I recently checked in for our cruise using resort transfers. I was automatically assigned an early PAT and boarding group 2. As previously mentioned though, we won’t know the actual bus pick up time until the night before. I’ve heard that post COVID, most resort pick up times have been between 8am and 9am. Will know soon

Pre-Covid the higher end your hotel was the quicker you would get put on the schedule. Not sure if that’s the same now.

that may be on the way to the ship.... Pre covid we stayed at the grand floridian post-cruise And had a tour of 7 resorts before we were dropped off!!! Not great when you are paying all that money!
