Princess - I LOVE the Countdown picture!! Every time that I look at this thread I sing the song to myself....Countdow-own, Countdow-own, Countdow-own .................... big long drum roll .................. COUNTDOWN!!!

Yes, I remember Countdown when it went from black and white to colour - and when Fernando was number 1 for so long that they started playing the number 2 song at the end of the show........I am old.....

Travel Mum-I still think the paper chain is a VERY cool idea and EXPERTLY crafted....somewhat related to craft and discarding things try explaining to a 6 year old you threw out her (unbeknownst to you) beloved handful of sticks and leaves that was lurking in a corner of the room but was apparently a nest for her (very small rubber) lizard Sticky..and then Grandma comes to stay while we go on hols and when we get back Sticky is missing. Quick creative thinking- he fell in love and has got married and gone to his wife's house to live in the garden but his children will come back to visit-cue purchase some smaller rubber lizards and leave in conspicuous spots. Poor Grandma-we think Sticky was wrapped up in tissues (sleeping) so ended in the bin! That was 14 years ago now-and she still sometimes says-I wonder what really happened to Sticky-I really loved him!!

Travel Mum - looking at your amazing chain finally made me bite the bullet and tonight I grabbed my daughter and we went crazy at the dining room table.

We now have a lovely ribbon with 17 post-it notes attached to it. It's so pretty and each day was personally decorated by Miss (almost) 7!! We also popped other things onto the backs of the post-its, like Fathers Day, DD's birthday and her party and performing arts concert. Honestly - I'll probably find myself using it as my new calender!!

I'll get DH (the computer brain around here) to get a photo up here. It's gorgeous - both the ribbon and the DD!!!

By the way Battymum - I laugh every time I think about your post-its - but I also worry about what you will all do when you get to 5,4,3,2,1,0 days - how will you know?!

Actually I look at that photo and all I can see is the bad spelling - and where it says day we set sail - looks like sex! This is from a kid that was in a gifted and talented class - Bear in mind he is writing sideways.

But I can see his enthusiasm and it makes me smile!
