thanks for the code, i hadn't heard of the Kooza one, will have to check it out.

the good thing with all the shows, psychologically because we pay for them now, i kind off forget about what we pay for them! Makes the holiday somehow cheaper.

And although i keep all the receipts from our holidays, i never add up what we have spent, it would freak me out. Kinda think we could have paid of a house by now! Just don't tell anyone.

I like the fact that we have paid for the disney and universal tickets as well, so that expense is also out of the way.

Marvel I totally agree that pyschologically it seems that you spend less when you are away because you've spent so much beforehand,

I so believe that as well. My 2 kids cost me a fortune when they are on school holidays at home, not only just entertainment but also all the food they eat, much cheaper to take them away from their friends and social life.
I always count my husbands and my monthly income as spending money. Just ignore mortgage, insurance and stuff and you do break even.

We we go in less than a month now and I am finding it so hard to concentrate at work. I am constantly thinking about the trip. Am I the only one doing this or do you find this happening as well?

I went into Kmart today and they have the cutest adults minnie mouse pj's, so of course I bought them, then I found adult Mickey Mouse tshirts, so I bought those as well. DH just looked at me with pity when I played with my pj's with such excitement. Red with white polka dots and a big picture of minnie, way too cute.

Here's a link to printable Anaheim discount coupons, including Rainforest Cafe, for those of you planning on dining there... We used coupons a lot on our trip back in April and it all helps - especially when you are pricing everything in Pacific pesos (aka the Kiwi $!)
I'm following this thread for vicarious thrills - we aren't planning on going to DL again until 2011 or 12 - sigh... at least the lagoon will be refilled in DCA by then!

rossip, I did receive an email from CPK saying welcome etc etc but not till about 3 or 4 days after I registered. I am not too worried about receiving their updates or anything, so long as they send the discounts for birthdays

I personally don't think you need ps for rainforest, you can get one a day or so before you want to eat, we did that, it was a few years ago, but didn't have any problems.

I am now getting obsessed with the trip as well, have this feeling that i haven't plan well enough and don't have a good plan of where to eat etc and that i will miss something out.

dollar up again, only need a good night on the US stock market and maybe get to over .85 yipee. !!

Thats funny! I'm an obsessive planner and budgeter so I've got a running budget of everything we've paid and everything we are to pay. I've added all the museums and activities etc that we will be doing when we are there. Even a food budget. The only thing that is hard to pin down is spending and we will not be doing much of that.

Very true!! When I added up how much we could use from the pays while we are away I was a bit shocked actually.

Thats funny! I'm an obsessive planner and budgeter so I've got a running budget of everything we've paid and everything we are to pay. I've added all the museums and activities etc that we will be doing when we are there. Even a food budget. The only thing that is hard to pin down is spending and we will not be doing much of that.

I thought I was the only one who did this. I'm so glad you do it too Funnily enough DH thought I was crazy with the amount of planning I did, but each night I went through what we spent, entered it into an Excel sheet I set up, then what we were under budget was automatically averaged and added to future days on the trip. So, for example, say our total budget for the day was $400 and we spent $300, the remaining $100 would then get spread across the "no-plans spending money" for each day, so 10 days left it would be an additiona $10 per day.

There was a budget for each part - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, entries, planned spending, tips, and everything else, and the type of money we would use - travel card, cash, Amex, etc.

OK, maybe I'm a bit obessive, but it worked well for us and DH was glad when we worked out he didn't need to think about it each day.

Kylie that sounds very much like mine. I have a budget for all meals although most breakfasts and lunches will be made in the hotel room from supplies purchased. But I also am noting what method of payment we will use for each. And my obsessive planning and budgeting is how we manage an annual holiday on one income so I think DH appreciates it plenty LOL.

We didn't bother booking at Rainforest Cafe until the day before - it was super busy (Spring Break) and there were heaps of people waiting half an hour or more for standby tables, so definitely worth booking!
Of course evenw ith a booking they make you wait 15 mins or more for your table - so you can browse in the giant gift shop!!!
Still, it's worth it for a "oncer" and our kids loved it - and the "wait in the gift shop" trick works - we came home with RFC placemats and plates!

Another tipping Q for all you tipping experts.

I have just received my confirmation from our limo company for all our various transfers. I have booked 4 transfers in total to various places. Our driver will be the same person for all 4 transfers - I like that idea So now I am wondering am I supposed to tip the guy after every single trip or just at the end? See the thing is that we won't be paying him at all because the payment is made with their head office by credit card at the end of our trip.

So is it protocol for me to give him a tip every time he takes us somewhere, or should I just give him a good tip at the end of our last trip? Also, I am wondering if giving him a tip every time will make him be nicer to us/better service
