Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

We did this tour last year and loved it. Nobody seemed to check any type of paperwork. So if you fibbed a litttle :confused3 would you get found out????

Because we loved the Segways so much, we will be doing a tour of the Hollywood sign on them this time. Cant wait.

It has crossed my mind :rolleyes1 But for $100 each, I'd hate to book it and then be turned away on the day. Somehow I don't see them giving refunds simply because he doesn't have ID to back up his age...

I would love to do a segway tour but the kids are way too small.

worldcare is only $12 dearer for us than TID so I will have to check out the fine print and see which has the best options for less exces etc.

As for the food, we just love eating in the US. Problem is we get motivated to lose weight before we go so we look good in the photos, last time dropped two sizes and 10kgs, got back with all the tons of clothes I bought, and a month or so later basking in the euphoria of the trip, couldn't wear alot of the clothes as I had put enough weight back on to gain a size

So now I am back in the gym for our sept trip !!

we will have to do Blue Bayou after hearing so much about it.

emum - i know what you mean about other holidays. we just did the Gold Coast in March and the theme parks etc , and not again, we were done by lunch time!!

Any of you guys stay in LA anywhere you can recommend? still undecided where to spend our first few nights were we will do hollywood and universal. Looking at the renaissance but it is nearly $400AUD, contemplating the ones near universal like the sheraton, or possible Santa Monica (expensive as well)

well i just picked up my tickets yesterday and my travel agent who was just there was telling me that things are so cheap when you go to the local shops.. not the ones around the tourist areas the other ones. he was saying that he got two pair of calvin klein pants for $18 each down from there 80 price tag.. and a friend of his got some gridiron boots for get this.. $.99.. yep 99 cents..

so might be good to save..

Marvel I don't know what kind of hotels you like. We like cheap but clean. We stay in hostels quite regularly. We stayed at the Hotel Carmel in Santa Monica in 2005. It gets a real mixed bag of reviews on Trip Advisor so I went with some trepidation. The location is amazing. The rooms were clean but very small. It wasn't flash but we enjoyed staying there.
The other one that looked interesting was the Sea Shore.

ok fellow aussie dissers,
does anyone know where to find the d23 magazine? is it even sold in australia? it would be sad if they didn't bcoz i'm sure there's heaps of ppl willing to get it eg US!!!!!!!!!

:lmao:I know what you mean about loosing weight. Madly trying to get off the weight I put on from last years trip, before we go again.

We are also going to stay at The Renaissance, due to location, location, location. We wont have a car, so this hotel ticks all the boxes. I too don't like looking at the price per night but this is what you pay for convenience.

Oh gosh, I have just noticed that my Avatar might not be very appropriate with the Swine flu at the moment. :sad2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl: Only just thought about your avatar when you mentioned it!
Yes, We are leaning towards Renaissance as well for the same reasons. DId you book it directly from their website?

The shopping is mad over there, even with the exchange rate at 60c it is still cheaper. Their markdowns are crazy, just loved shopping in Macy's etc.

What is d23 magazine??

Sorry gogo but 'ski off piste' makes me laugh! I am still a child at heart!!

What is d23 magazine?

D23 is a Disney fan club. Only just started. The magazine is released quarterly and is pretty expensive... The club seems like a bit of a waste of money too. Especially if you can barely ever make it to a convention, like most of us

I can't wait for the shopping, I am trying to hold out on buying just about anything if I know I can get it cheaper over there (even though it's more than a year until we go), i'll be wearing rags by September 2010 :rotfl2:

Yip I'm losing weight here (though have been for months to get rid of my pregnancy weight even though my baby is now 2 ;) )

And I can't wait until the shopping. On the 2nd day after we arrive we are going to get a rental car for a couple of days and do the big outlet malls (dessert hills, Citadel, ermmmmmm Ontario mills? ) so hoping to pick up some bargains :)

It's easier to just join and they'll send you out the magazine, and a membership card, plus a free gift, and then that way you will have access to exclusive d23 merch. You pay all in one lump sum but then you don't have to worry abou hwen to get next issue as it'll just be sent out. I joined the day d23 started and will be signing up next year aswell.

We shopped at the Vegas outlets last time, has anyone been to dessert hills, Citadel, Ontario mills? Are they worth the trip. We enjoyed south coast plaza, its not an outlet though. Have never been to outlets in LA.

I ordered the DVD last Wednesday and it arrived today. Just finished watching it and it is the same one I had mum send over from the US in early 2007 when we were planning our WDW vacation. It's a little out of date but I enjoyed watching it again.

Also waiting to try toy story!!

What's Rock n Roller Coaster & Everest? Obviously at Disneyworld?

I also looove The Mummy at Universal

My favourites are:

Screamin'
Buzz Lightyear
Soarin

I'm really looking forward to Toy Story too.

I love Space Mountain!!!!!!! First rode it 19 years ago and it scared the sh*t out of me and I closed my eyes the entire ride. Rode it in 2007 with Dh & DS (who was scared, so I put on a brave face for) and it was my favourite ride ever!!!!!!! My 9 year old son was screaming and I was screaming back "are you ok???" and he screamed back "yes, I love this riiiiiiiiiide". Our only disappointment was it was soooo busy in June, we never got to ride ago. Alas, we will be in 13 days 18 hrs. It was one reason I knew I had to do Disney again. Oh and Peter Pan (Which will be down unfortunately). I'm so excited I'm getting breathless. Crazy hey?
